Modern poetry can be published in official script
Official script, including Qin Li, Han Li, etc., is generally believed to have developed from seal script. The characters are mostly wide and flat, with long horizontal strokes and long vertical strokes. Short, pay attention to "silkworm head and swallow tail" and "twists and turns".
According to the unearthed slips, the official script was founded in the Qin Dynasty. It is said that Cheng Miao was the official. The Han official script reached its peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It inherited the tradition of seal script and opened up the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. It played an important role in the calligraphy of later generations. Despite its influence, the calligraphy circle is known as "Han Li Tang Kai".
The structural characteristics of official script
The font is flat and square. The official script is divided into left and right sides, contrary to the normal situation of seal script being vertical. Instead, it is horizontal (left and right), resulting in a flat square shape. , the strokes shrink the vertical strokes and strengthen the horizontal expansion.
Start the silkworm head and close the pen with the swallowtail. This is a typical feature of the brush used in official script. In particular, the horizontal and vertical strokes of the main strokes in official script are almost all using this method. The so-called "brush silkworm head" means that in the process of using the brush to hide the (reverse) edge of the brush, the stroke shape formed by the brush stroke process is written into a shape similar to that of a silkworm head. "Closing the pen swallowtail" means pressing the pen at the pen closing position and then lifting the pen diagonally to the upper right to strike.
Converting circles into squares and arcs into straight lines are the two basic ways to simplify seal script in official script. However, if you don't understand the circle of seal script, it will be difficult to master the square of official script. Because the straight drawings or square folds in the official brush all contain the arc of the seal characters, the straightness of the official brush often has obvious fluctuations and is full of vitality. In fact, the meaning of official script is based on the movement of strokes.
Change drawings into dots and connections into breaks. We know that seal characters do not require dots, and even if dots are used, they are just round dots. The dots in official scripts have become independent and no longer attached to paintings, and the dot methods are becoming increasingly rich, including flat dots, vertical dots, left and right dots, three connected dots (next to water), four connected dots (next to fire), etc. In addition, official script also breaks down the many circling and continuous strokes in seal characters, which opens the door to the convenience of writing. Later, regular script further developed this method, allowing traces of connection between pens and even strokes to appear. Break the connection.
Strengthen the changes in the thickness of the strokes. When writing seal script, the vertical strokes of the pen are required to leave no traces, while the official script intentionally emphasizes the stroke movement, resulting in significant changes in stroke trajectories in thickness, succession, rise, line, and strokes. The three processes of collecting and using the pen are clearly reflected. This is very similar to the later regular script.
