Contrastive writing works

Contrast is a method to set off clouds and support the moon, and it is also an indirect description method commonly used in literary works. It means to represent the moon, not to write about the moon directly, but to drop ink on the cloud on the edge of the moon and highlight the moon through the cloud. Don't write directly about human feelings, but show an atmosphere, background or relationship from the side. Liu Xizai said in "Introduction to Art": "The spirit of the mountain can't be written, it is written in the clouds; The spirit of spring cannot be written, but the grass tree can be written. " What he said is a way to trust the cloudy moon.

Contrast is often used in poetry creation. In the well-known On Mulberry, the author did not write the beauty of Luo 'ao in a tedious and direct way, but wrote from the side that everyone was shocked by this beauty after seeing Luo Fu: "When a passer-by sees Luo Fu, he must carry a heavy load." When the teenager saw Luo Fu, he took off his hat and covered his head. The tiller forgets to plow, and the hoe forgets to hoe; Come to complain, but sit and watch Luo Fu. "This contrast pen has really achieved the goal of" a rising tide lifts all boats ",and the beauty of Luo Fu is self-evident. When Sakyamuni entered the King Snake City in The Behavior of the Buddha, the author did not describe his "thirty-two phases" and "seventy kinds of goodness" in detail like some classics, but described his bodhisattva's face "like a wonderful lotus, a thousand kinds of lotus roots" with short pen and ink, and then turned his eyes to the masses, showing his beauty and kindness from their actions: " Know the bodhisattva well and never forget to ask for milk. For city people, everyone is happy. "Bees gather in the lotus, and the nursing baby looks up at the Buddha from the mother's arms, forgetting to describe the Buddha's face from the side of nursing, which shows that his face is as attractive as the sun and the moon. In Homer's epic (Iliad), there is a beautiful woman, Helen, who is radiant, but the beauty of this beautiful woman is not directly described by the author in words, but expressed by comparison.

Contrast is often used in novels. This indirect description of the characters, that is, before the appearance of the characters, is like the sound of gongs and drums and accompaniment on the stage, giving the audience a sense of expectation and giving the appearance of the characters a "high starting point". For example, in the past, when officials went on patrol or went home, the soldiers who shouted gongs and drums had already set off a huge momentum to show their official prestige and identity. For example, Zhuge Liang used this contrast technique when writing the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Before Zhuge Liang appeared, he once said through the mouth of Mr. Shui Jing, "If you win one, you can live in peace." This has created Zhuge Liang's extraordinary legendary color and aroused readers' curiosity. Then he wrote that Liu visited the villa and asked him. Before Zhuge Liang appeared, he also created a strong atmosphere through the magical and beautiful scenery of Wollongong and Zhuge Liang's relatives and friends, which dyed and set off Zhuge Liang's ambition. Zhuge Liang's last words are faint dyes after comparison. Without such contrast, Zhuge Liang's image would never be so radiant. Another example is Liu He's "Old Handicap"
