Bing Xin (190010.05—1999.02.28) died at the age of 99. He was born in Hengling Village, Changle, Fuzhou, Fujian Province. His original name was Xie Wanying and his pen name was Bing Xin. It means "a piece of ice in the jade pot". Known as the "old man of the century", he is a famous modern poet, writer, translator and children's writer.
