What are modern poetry and ancient poetry?

Classical poetry refers to poems that have relatively loose requirements for metrical rules since the pre-Qin period, such as The Book of Songs, Songs of Chu, Yuefu Poems and Folk Songs. Modern poems are mature metrical poems after Sui and Tang Dynasties, such as metrical poems and quatrains. Because of the definition of metrical poems in the Tang Dynasty, the popular metrical poems in the Tang Dynasty are called modern poems, and the older poems are called ancient poems.
