Xiaoya Luming Literature is a poem in The Book of Songs, the first collection of poems in ancient China, and also the first poem of Xiaoya. This is a feast poem, and there has been a lot of debate about its theme. There are roughly two kinds of opinions: beautiful poems and thorn poems.
The poem consists of three chapters, each with eight sentences, praising the host's respect for the guests, the virtue of the guests, and the role of banquet activities in maintaining people's hearts. From the content point of view, it is fair and straightforward, from the style point of view, it is neutral and elegant, full and graceful, with a peaceful atmosphere, especially starting with Luming Literature, fresh and simple.
Creation background
Xiaoya Luming Literature is a musical song written by Zhou Wang when he gave a banquet for ministers and guests. "Preface to Mao Poetry" said: "It is also a guest of Yan. Not only eat and drink, but also have money to show kindness, and then try our best to be loyal to the guests. "
In view of the different views in history, Deng Qinghong made textual research from two aspects: the theme of the poem and the time when it was written. He thought that the time when Xiaoya Luming Literature was written should be in the Zhou Xuanwang era in the middle and late Western Zhou Dynasty, and it should be a beautiful poem emphasizing "hierarchy and clan unity". This poem describes the grand occasion of the harmony and joy of the king's "guest of Yan State".
Xiaoya Luming Literature is one of the "Four Beginnings" in The Book of Songs, which was sung by the ancients at banquets. According to Zhu's Biography of Poetry, this poem was first sung by the king at a banquet for his ministers, and then gradually spread to the people, and it can also be sung at the banquet of fellow villagers.
This poem consists of three chapters, each with eight sentences, all of which begin with Luming Literature. On the empty Yuan Ye, a group of elk leisurely ate weeds and sometimes sang yo-yo songs, which was very harmonious and pleasant. Poetry will create a warm and harmonious atmosphere. If it is a banquet between the monarch and the minister, the already existing stiff and tense relationship will be eased immediately.
Therefore, Zhu's Biography of Poetry thinks that the relationship between monarch and minister is limited to a certain number of etiquette, and the hierarchy is strict, forming an ideological gap. The banquet can communicate feelings and let the king hear the thoughts of ministers. However, since Luming Literature, it has laid a harmonious and pleasant tone from the very beginning, which strongly infected the guests.
The influence of later generations
Xiaoya Luming Literature, as an early banquet music song, later became the music song of aristocratic banquets, rural drinking ceremonies, wedding ceremonies and other banquets. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Cao also directly quoted the first four sentences of this poem in his short song to express his thirst for talents. Even in the Tang and Song Dynasties, at the banquet held after the imperial examination, the chapter "Xiaoya and Luming Literature" was sung, which was called "the banquet to show the way", showing the far-reaching influence of this poem.
