Yang Zhi's stories are relatively concentrated, from the first1/reply to "Selling Knives in Yangzhi, Bianjing City" to the last 16 reply to "Green Beasts and Double Beads Temple", ***6 times. Of course, the story of "outwitting the birth outline" in classical literature also overlaps with Yang Zhi's story twice.
Yang Zhi's "Initial Heart"
Yang Zhi's story begins with Wang Lun forcing Lin Chong to accept warlords. Lin Chong waited at the foot of the mountain for three days, and finally a single guest arrived. After a long battle, he won or lost. Wang Lun said, stopped their struggle. Readers, do you think Wang Lun loves talents? No, what he is thinking is: I finally found someone who is evenly matched with Lin Chong. In the future, Yang Zhi will become an outlaw together and make them jealous. My position as a boss is not threatened. However, Yang Zhi's ambition is not here at all. He doesn't want to be a king and a robber! So, what is his "initial heart"? After Yang Zhi left Liangshan and returned to Kyoto, he did some work up and down, but he was not reinstated. But being driven out of the house by Gao Qiu, Yang Zhi was depressed and thought:
"Wang Lun also advised me. Just for the sake of cudgel's innocent surname, I refused to defile my parents' bones, hoping to put all my skills into the court, marry and have children, and fight against my ancestors. I don't want to eat this flash anymore. ……"
This is Yang Zhi's "initial heart": seeking fame by ability, honoring ancestors and pursuing self-realization.
Why is there such an "initial heart"? This "initial heart", Li Kui jy will not have, nor will Song Jiang.
First look at Yang Zhi's family background. Yang Zhi, Liangshan hero and Lin Chong, after a battle of wits, confessed their life experience. It turns out that Yang Zhi is "the grandson of three generations of Yang". After the door is closed, Yang's grandson will be four generations of officials and three generations of descendants. With such a family background, when Yang Zhi was born, he was naturally expected to inherit the Yang family style, at least not to be a son.
Secondly, look at Yang Zhi's growth path. Or Yang Zhi said to himself, "When I was young, I should know martial arts and let the temple system be an official." That is to say, Yang Zhi worked hard when he was young and learned a good martial arts skill. After he was admitted to martial arts, he took up this military post. The so-called temple official system is an official sent by the palace master to handle official business. If Hua Shigang had not fallen, it is conceivable that Yang Zhi would have risen all the way with his skill.

Some people will think, since it is a natural disaster, why not tell the truth when you go back? Yang Zhi's responsibility is not great either. But we know that Yang Zhi is a very cautious person. If our boss will punish Yang Zhi lightly for natural disasters, why did Yang Zhi run away? What's more, ten commanders, the other nine have successfully completed their tasks, and only Yang Zhi has returned empty-handed. Will the boss believe it?
Although Yang Zhi fled for refuge, his "initial heart" was still there and he was unwilling to interrupt his official career. So after hearing that the court pardoned the criminal, he immediately collected a car load of money and things in his hometown, trying to contact each other and fantasizing that he could be reinstated. Unfortunately, Qiu Fu, the master of the temple at this time, has been replaced by Gao Qiu. Yang drove all the money and people out of the palace.
Yang Zhi's previous boss was not Gao Qiu, which can be seen from "Gao Qiu has read all the previous historical documents". If his former boss was Gao Qiu, Gao Qiu would know Yang Zhi's mistake without looking closely. Yang Zhi didn't understand Gao Qiu, thinking that Gao Qiu could be lenient and reinstated if he accepted the gift.
Then, why did Gao Qiu break into a furious rage after reading Yang Zhi's declaration documents and drive Yang Zhi out of the palace? Jin Shengtan criticized that Gao Qiu was jealous of talents, so why would Gao Qiu be jealous of a subordinate whose status was far less than his own? First of all, look at birth. Think about Gao Qiu's background, street help, with the ability to play football, climbed to Wangwei and became emperor, and he himself became the commander-in-chief of the palace because he was favored by Wangwei; What about Yang Zhi's birth? However, because of the indirect harm to the people, Yang Zhi was treated much better than Lin Chong during his detention and his assignment.
Fate seems to be getting better. Liang Zhongshu, the left-behind department of Daming Mansion, appreciates Yang Zhi very much. Not only did he keep Yang Zhi in the government, but he also arranged a teaching contest to flatter Yang Zhi and make him promoted, with a position and a fixed salary.
The turning point of fate has given Yang Zhi the confidence and hope to regain his "initial heart". He worked hard in Fu Liang and got the opportunity to escort the gold and silver bear for himself. This gold and silver bear is a birthday gift from Liang Zhongshu to his father-in-law Cai Jing. This task is glorious and arduous. Glory means who escorts the gold and silver bear means who is the most trusted person in Liang Zhongshu. Difficult means that thieves may hijack all the way. Last year, they were robbed. This year, we can only be more careful. It is groundless to say that you trust Yang Zhi, because the book is about people who are hesitant to escort, or Mrs. Liang gives directions. After Yang Zhi listened to Liang Zhongshu, he even asked two sentences, "Why do you care? When do you get up? " It can be seen that Yang Zhi's mind is delicate. Liang Zhongshu said that he would plant a flag in the car, but he refused, fearing that it would be too ugly; As soon as I heard that the old manager was going to follow me, I refused again, fearing that I could not lead this senior slave. Therefore, it can be inferred from this matter that Yang Zhiping did not cater to Liang Zhongshu in Fu Liang, so Liang Zhongshu did not regard him as a confidant. It was only because Yang Zhilai was skilled in martial arts that he had to be escorted. Because of distrust, I had to send the old manager to supervise.
Knowing the importance of the relationship and that the boss doesn't trust him, Yang Zhitai wants to make meritorious service and get a promotion, so he is still on the road. Yang Zhi is cautious all the way, taking the main road, if it is cool, it will be fine, and if it is hot, it will rest. I had to take the path, so I hurried on in hot weather. I had a rest to avoid encountering thieves. However, Yang Zhi's soldiers didn't know his mind. So the more Yang Zhi urged, the more disgusted his soldiers became. Although the contradiction between the two sides did not break out, when they arrived at Huangnigang, Yang Zhi was reprimanded and whipped, and the soldiers could not get up and walk. After the birth program ended, Yang Zhi's "family is difficult to manage, and the country is difficult to vote", and his "initial heart" can no longer be found. So he wanted to jump into Huangnigang to commit suicide, but he was unwilling. He strolled south and came to the door of a hotel. In the end, becoming an outlaw in Erlong Mountain is completely different from "initial heart", but there is no second choice.
A gentleman does something, but Yang Zhi is a person who can bear the burden of humiliation and abide by the hidden rules of officialdom for his "initial heart", so forbearance cannot be respected; His persistence is beyond appreciation. If he values "initial intention" more than process, he can:

He is a middleman in officialdom, knowing that officialdom is full of hidden rules, and it is useless to meet a jealous person like Gao Qiu. He still abided by the hidden rules, and finally the money was spent and people were driven out.
Pay too much attention to "initial heart", thus ignoring the era when dreams can't be realized by skills at all. When talking to the old manager himself, didn't he also say that "now is not better than peacetime"?
The Analects of Confucius says, "If a country has a way, it will be an official; If the country has no way, it can be rolled up. " But Yang Zhi insisted on pursuing self-realization in officialdom. Is Yang Zhi stupid and naive?
