German painter. 18 15 was born in breslau on February 8th, and 1905 died in Berlin on February 9th. Short-term plaster and body sketch training in early years. From 1839 to 1842, he became famous after being hired to create 600 illustrations for the history of frederick the great. Later, he became a court painter in Prussia and created a series of oil paintings based on major historical events in the emperor's life. The highest artistic achievement is a large number of genre paintings, landscape paintings and portraits drawn directly from real life since the 1940s. Representative works such as Prince albrecht Garden, Bonn-Postan Railway, Playground Theatre, etc. The most prominent is the large-scale oil painting "Rolling Mill" created by 1875, which eulogizes the works of industrial workers in an unpretentious style, marking the beginning of the new era of industrial revolution and modern civilization. In his later years, the government awarded him the title of honorary citizen and served as honorary president of Berlin University. He created a lot of oil paintings, prints, watercolors, sketches and sketches in his life, but most of them were destroyed by the gunfire of World War II, and some of them were hidden in major museums in Germany.
