Oh, the inherent pain and torture,
the ear-piercing scream at the time of death,
and the blow that hit the bloodline ,
The unstoppable flow of blood, the sadness,
and the curse that no one can bear.
But healing can be done at home,
not outside the home, no,
No one can help but them,
Their blood and tears struggle. We sing to you,
The dark gods of the underground world.
Listen, you blissful power of the earth—
Answer the call and send help.
Bless your children and give them victory and hope.
——"The Libation Bearer", Aeschylus
Original text:
Oh, the torment bred in the race,
the grinding scream of death
and the stroke that hits the vein,
the hemorrhage none can staunch, the grief,
the curse no man can bear .
But there is a cure in the house,
and not outside it, no,
not from others but from them,
< p>their bloody strife. We sing to you, dark gods beneath the earth.
Now hear, you blissful powers underground--
answer the call ,send help.
triumph Bless the children, give them now.
--Aeschylus, The Libation Bearers
Death just crosses the world, like a friend crossing a long distance Oceans. They still live in each other's hearts because they must exist, that love and life are everywhere. In this sacred mirror, they looked at each other face to face and talked freely, candidly and innocently. This is the consolation of friends, that even though they are said to be dying, their friendship and companionship will live on through immortality.
——"Revisiting the Fruits of Loneliness", William Penn
Original text
Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still. For they must needs be present, that love and live in that which is omnipresent. In this divine glass, they see face to face;and their converse is free,as well as pure. This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense, ever present, because immortal.
