When talking about Li Shangyin, my predecessor said that this compassionate poet probably devoted all his feelings to these untitled poems. They are "like a locked jewelry box. When the lid of the box is slightly opened, we can see the cold or warm light through the gap, but the box can't be completely opened. We have to feel untitled feelings and untitled beauty from this occasional glimmer.
Li Shangyin's poems have always been difficult to understand, because he often writes in myths and imaginations. Liang Qichao once said that he didn't understand the literal meaning of poems such as Jinse, Bi Cheng and The Hall of the Virgin. It is normal for Liang Qichao to be puzzled. It is said that "Jinse" has always been interpreted in many ways: some people call it a mourning poem, some people say it is a party struggle, some people say that "Jinse" is a woman's name, and some people say it is the poet's feeling that his career is not smooth.
