Gao Hongbo, pen name Xiang chuan. Born in 1951, Kailu County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Once joined the army. Started publishing works in 1979. He used to be the deputy director of the reporter department of Wenyi Bao and the deputy editor of China Writers, and now he is the secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Writers Association. Vice Chairman of Children's Literature Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Poetry Magazine. He has published children's poetry anthology Judge Elephant, Crocodile Eating Stones, Goose Goose, The Secret of Calling Spring, Flying Dragons and Gods Pigeons, I like you, Fox, prose anthology, Whispering, and commentary anthology, Fairy Tales on Goose's Back-A glimpse of Chinese and foreign children's literature, and Love Words to Bins, etc. Children's poem "I want to" and prose collection "Whispers" won the first and third National Excellent Children's Literature Awards of the Chinese Writers Association respectively.
