Tenth Chen Ziang
Most of the poems in the early Tang Dynasty still followed the writing style of the predecessors. Tang poetry really changed drastically by Chen Gongfang. He initiated the later Li Bai and Du Fu, and also influenced many poets in the prosperous Tang Dynasty and beyond. I ranked him in the top ten only because of his impact on future generations, and of course because he did leave some swan songs.
The representative works are 38 poems of "Feelings of Encounter"
The Ninth Du Mu
Du Mu and Li Shangyin are representatives of late Tang poets. By the late Tang Dynasty, their poems had already It has obviously fallen behind and is not as impressive as its predecessors. But the emergence of "Little Li Du" gave rise to a new scene of poetry in the late Tang Dynasty. But in terms of the artistry of writing poetry and the control of words, Du Mu is still inferior to Li Shangyin. But as far as the entire Tang Dynasty is concerned, there are probably not many people who are stronger than him.
He is the author of "Collected Works of Fan Chuan".
Eighth Wang Changling
Wang Changling, who is famous for his quatrains in the Tang Dynasty, has few rivals for his powerful and vigorous poems, or for his metaphorical and affectionate writing. His quatrains were as famous as Li Bai in the Tang Dynasty, and he can be said to be one of the top figures in quatrains in the Tang Dynasty. Looking at the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai is probably the only one who can compete with Wang Changling in quatrains. So I ranked him eighth.
His works include "Collection of Wang Changling". "Out of the Barrier"
Seventh Li Shangyin
As the first spokesperson of the late Tang poets, his poetry level cannot be criticized by others. In particular, he created his own style of poetry, and his poems are thought-provoking and inspiring. He has extremely high attainments in quatrains and rhymed poetry, and his poetry opened up a new world for Tang poetry. I ranked it seventh.
The works are included in "Li Yishan's Collected Poems". There are many "Untitled" poems
Sixth Meng Haoran
Although some people often put him and Wang Wei together, if we really talk about it, there is still a certain gap between him and Wang Wei. However, his style of writing is natural, his writing skills are unparalleled, and his ability to control words is rare for people in the Tang Dynasty. There are indeed few people who can match his influence on poetry. Based on this, I still ranked him in the top six.
The representative work "Spring Dawn"
The fifth Cui Hao
Maybe many people will be unconvinced when I rank him here, but as far as his poetry is concerned In terms of real achievements, Cui Hao is indeed above Meng Haoran and Li Shangyin.
Cui Hao was the only person in the Tang Dynasty who could compete with Du Fu in his special skills in rhythmic poetry. Although Wang Changling can also compete in the quatrains that Li Bai is good at, it is the ancient style that Li Bai really dominates the poetry world, that is, the ancient style of singing. Cui Hao's "Yellow Crane Tower" made Li Bai lament that he "can't write about the scenery before him", and it also made Du Fu unable to win the title of "No. 1 Rhymed Poetry" even though he had many verses. In this regard, Li Shangyin and Meng Haoran cannot compare. Moreover, Cui Hao's extremely long poems in ancient style were the only ones who could surpass Cui Hao in this aspect during the prosperous Tang Dynasty, only Li Bai and Du Fu. So I ranked him fifth.
The representative work "Yellow Crane Tower"
Fourth Bai Juyi
In terms of the level of poetry, Bai Juyi and Wang Wei are equal. But among the white kings, I prefer Wang Wei. Therefore, Bai Juyi can only be placed behind Wang Wei. Bai Juyi was the first poet in the mid-Tang Dynasty and a representative of New Yuefu poetry. He was good at long narratives and was deeply influenced by Du Fu. Looking at the artistic level of his poetry, the only ones who can really surpass him in the Tang Dynasty are Li Bai and Du Fu.
The representative work "Song of Everlasting Sorrow"
The Third Wang Wei
Wang Wei is a versatile poet who is good at all things. His landscape poetry can be said to be the most outstanding in the Tang Dynasty. There is no opponent. His poems have profound artistic conception, and his writing style is like water hibiscus and full of cicada nature. It's a pity that he didn't develop his talents well, otherwise he might really be able to compete with Li Bai and Du Fu. But history cannot be assumed, so he still fell under Li Du.
The representative work "Autumn Dwelling in the Mountains"
The second Du Fu
The poet, the representative work "Three Officials and Three Farewells"
The first Li Bai
Shixian, needless to say.
The representative works "Sleepwalking Tianmu Yin Farewell" and "Xia Ke Xing"
