The relationship between Gao Shi and Guo Ziyi

Gao Shi and Guo Ziyi were good friends and served as officials in the government at the same time.

According to an article published by Changlefang who inquired about Muotao, in the movie "Chang'an 30,000 Miles", Li Bai left behind to guard and Gao Shi traveled a long distance to beg his brother Shu Han to pardon Guo Ziyi. This is a fabricated story. In real history, only Li Bai was the one who rescued Guo Ziyi, so there is no historical evidence that Gao Shi saved Guo Ziyi.

Guo Ziyi (696-765) and Gao Shi (724-784) were both famous generals and poets during the Tang Dynasty. Guo Ziyi was a famous general in the early Tang Dynasty. He played an important role in the establishment and consolidation of the Tang Dynasty. During the Anshi Rebellion, with his military talent and loyalty to the Tang Dynasty, he successfully suppressed the rebellion and safeguarded the unity of the Tang Dynasty.

Guo Ziyi was later named Zuopushe and General Wuwei, and held many important positions. Gao Shi is a good friend of Guo Ziyi and a famous general and poet. Known for his talent in short poems, he served as the Tongjie Governor of the Tang Dynasty. Gao Shi and Guo Ziyi fought together during the Anshi Rebellion and jointly contributed to the victory of the Tang Dynasty.

Gao Shi's life experience:

Gao Shi's family was poor in his early years. In his prime, he lived in the Liang and Song Dynasties and socialized with Li Bai, Du Fu and others. When he was nearly 50 years old, he was recommended by others to enter the official career. He was appointed as the captain of Fengqiu County and soon resigned. In the eleventh year of Tianbao's reign (752), he went to Hexi Jiedushi Geshu Hanmuzhong and served as secretary-general. In the fourteenth year of Tianbao's reign (755), he served as the governor of Jiang County.

In the reign of Deyuanzai (756), he was promoted to admonish the officials. Soon he was appointed as the governor of Huainan and was ordered to attack Yongwang Li Lin. In the second year of Qianyuan (759), he became the governor of Pengzhou. In the first year of Shangyuan (760), he was transferred to the governor of Shuzhou. In the first year of Guangde (763), he took office as the Jiedushi envoy of Jiannan and Xichuan and as the Jiedushi of Dongchuan.

In the second year of Guangde (764), he should be recalled to Beijing and served as Minister of Punishment, Changshi of Sanqi, Gaoyin Qingguanglu doctor, and be granted the title of Marquis of Bohai County, with a settlement of 700 households. In the first year of Yongtai (765), Gao Shi died. As a gift to the Minister of Rites, he was given the posthumous title "Zhong".
