Ethnic origin of Jews:
The ancient Hebrews, a kind of Semitic people, wandered in the grasslands of the Euphrates River valley in the 3rd century BC/Kloc-0, and entered Canaan, which was later called Palestine in the middle of the 2nd century BC/Kloc-0. At that time, Canaanites called foreigners "Hebrews", meaning "people on the other side of the river".
According to the historical records of the Old Testament, their distant ancestor Abraham (pronounced Ibrahim in Arabic) first lived near the Ur Empire of Sumerians, and later moved to Canaan (now Israel/Palestine).
