English poetry with recitation of the original text

《When You Are Old》

When you are old and gray and full of sleep

And nodding by the fire, take down this book,

p>

And slowly read, and dream of the soft look

Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,< /p>

And loved your beauty with love false or true;

But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face;< /p>

And bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled

And paced upon the mountains overhead,

And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

When you are old (Yeats)

When you are old, gray-haired and sleepy,

When taking a nap by the fire, please take down this poem,

Read it slowly, recalling the softness of your eyes in the past

Recall their past heavy shadows;

p>

How many people loved you when you were young and cheerful

Fakely or sincerely admired your beauty,

Only one loved your pilgrim soul,< /p>

Love the painful wrinkles of your aging face.

Bow down by the red-gleaming fire,

Whispering sadly, why love fades away,

On the mountain above, it paces slowly Step by step,

Hidden his face among the stars.

The Songbird of the Vicissitudes of the World

Author: [American] Robert Penn Warren

That's just a bird It was chirping at night, and I couldn’t identify what kind of bird it was.

When I came back from fetching water from the spring and walked through the pasture full of stones,

I stood so still, with the The sky is as still as the sky in the bucket.

How many years have passed, so many places and so many faces have become indifferent, and some people have passed away.

But I stand far away, the night is so quiet, I am finally sure

< p>What I miss most is not the things that will eventually disappear,

but the tranquility when the birds sing.

《Ornithology in a World of Flux》

It was only a bird call at evening, unidentified,

As I came from the spring with water,across the rocky back-pasture;

But I stood so still sky above was not stiller than sky in pail-water.

Years pass, all places and faces fade, some people have died ,

And I stand in a far land, the evening still, and am at last sure

That I miss more that stillness at bird-call than some things that were to fail later

Robert Penn Warren (1905-1989), the first poet laureate of the United States. In his early years, he was one of the representatives of the "New Criticism School". In his later years, his poetic style underwent a major change. He has been called by critics "our most outstanding literary man" and "the most important American poet of the second half of the twentieth century."

The furthest distance in the world

Tagore

The furthest distance in the world

It’s not the distance between life and death

It’s me standing in front of you

You don’t know I love you

The farthest distance in the world< /p>

It’s not that I’m standing in front of you

You don’t know that I love you

It’s that I love you to the point of obsession

But I can’t say I love you

The furthest distance in the world

It’s not that I can’t say I love you

It’s that I miss you so much

But I can only bury it deep in my heart

The furthest distance in the world

It’s not that I can’t say I miss you

It’s that we love each other

But we can’t be together

The farthest distance in the world

It’s not loving each other

But we can’t be together

It’s knowing Knowing that true love is invincible

But pretending not to care

The furthest distance in the world

is not the distance between trees

but They are branches growing from the same root

But they cannot depend on each other in the wind

The furthest distance in the world

It is not that the branches cannot depend on each other

They are stars looking at each other

But there is no intersecting trajectory

The farthest distance in the world

It is not the trajectory between stars

But even if the trajectories intersect

In an instant, they are nowhere to be found

The furthest distance in the world

It is not that they are nowhere to be found in an instant

But before we meet

We are destined not to be together

The farthest distance in the world

is the distance between fish and birds

One is in the sky, but the other is deep under the sea

《The most distant way in the world》

The most distant way in the world

is not the way from birth to the end.

it is when i sit near you

that you don't understand i love u.

The most distant way in the world

is not that you're not sure i love u.

It is when my love is bewildering the soul

but i can't speak it out.

The most distant way in the world

is not that i can't say i love u.

it is after looking into my heart

i can't change my love.

The most distant way in the world

is not that i'm loving u.

< p>it is in our love

we are keeping between the distance.

The most distant way in the world

is not the distance across us.< /p>

it is when we're breaking through the way

we deny the existence of love.

So the most distant way in the world

< p>is not in two distant trees.

it is the same branches rooted

can't enjoy the co-existance.

So the most distant way in the world

is not in the being sepearated branches.

it is in the blinking stars

they can't burn the light.

So the most distant way in the world

is not the burning stars.

it is after the light

they can't be seen from afar.

So the most distant way in the world

is not the light that is fading away.

it is the coincidence of us

is not supposed for the love.

So the most distant way in the world

is the love between the fish and bird.

one is flying at the sky,

the other is looking upon into the sea.
