Three Hundred Tang Poems
The "Three Hundred Tang Poems" compiled by Hengtang Tuishi is the most widely circulated anthology of Tang poetry in more than 200 years. The editor's real name is Hengtang Tuishi. Sun Zhu (1711-1778), courtesy name Linxi, was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. He was a Jinshi during the Qianlong period and once served as a county magistrate. Because he was dissatisfied with the poor selection of poems in the widely circulated "Qianjia Shi" at that time, and only had five poems and seven poems, he "specialized in the most popular works of Tang poetry and selected the most important ones", imitating the scale of the "Book of Songs", and compiled the poems. "Three Hundred Tang Poems". At the beginning, it was just intended to provide "school textbooks" for school children. Later, because most of the selected poems were excellent Tang poems, and the number of selected poems was moderate, it became widely popular, and even reached the point where it was "popular all over the country, and almost every home had a copy of it."
"Three Hundred Prefaces to Tang Poems"
When secular children went to school, they were taught "Poems of a Thousand Families" and used it to recite it, so it has been passed down and passed down. I can't tell the difference, but the five and seven laws are the only two types, and people from the Tang and Song Dynasties mixed in between them, forming a different system. Yanzhuan selected the most popular poems of the Tang Dynasty and selected the most important ones. He obtained dozens of poems from each style and more than 300 poems, and recorded them into a series, which was used as a textbook for children to learn it. Isn't it far better than "The Poems of a Thousand Families"? A proverb goes: "If you are familiar with three hundred Tang poems, you can still recite them even if you don't know how to recite them.
