How did the poems in Historical Records from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty become a system of their own?
Poems of Past Dynasties is a collection of poems of past dynasties edited by Dai He, which includes 28 kinds of poems from Zhong Rong's poems to Qing Dynasty. Ding, a close friend, edited The Successive Poems of Past Dynasties, adding 28 kinds of poems from Tang Dynasty to Ming Dynasty. Ding also compiled "Poems about the bosom" and collected 42 kinds of poems about the bosom. The above three collections preserve most of the works of ancient poems and songs, which is very convenient to use. In ancient China, there was also a book called Chronology of Poems, which had both the nature of poetry criticism and the function of historical materials. This kind of book was first written in Chronology of Tang Poetry, which was a great success in the Southern Song Dynasty and was copied by later generations. Therefore, from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the chronicle of poetry has its own system.
