2. Du Fu's ideal of "obeying the monarch first, then making the vulgar pure" ("Giving Wei Zuocheng Twenty-two Rhymes"), "stealing millet and deed"
The pursuit of "eternal Bai Zi", especially the ancestors Du Yu and Du Yu's admiration for the family tradition of "being an official and keeping Confucianism" (Entering the Carved Table), and the ten years of being trapped in Chang 'an and seeking an official, all show his firm attitude of inheriting the principle of being an official.
3. After the troubled times, Du Fu went through difficulties and obstacles twice, and when he was left to clean up the mess in Su Zongfu, he set himself on fire to save the government, all of which showed his desire to make contributions. But what really shows his high consciousness of accepting Confucian values of life is that no official is light, especially when he is wandering in a foreign land and at the end of the road, he still cares about the fate of the country, never forgets to be a gentleman and always cares about the country and the people. This persistence and sincerity broke through Mencius' life realm of "being poor and being kind to yourself and being kind to the world" (Mencius' heart).
4. Of course, the Confucian outlook on life did not bring Du Fu a real opportunity to make contributions, but he became a great poet because without ideals, there would be no anguish that his ideals could not be realized. Without that deep-rooted value orientation, it would be impossible to shape a poet's character that always faces reality, life and people, and it would be impossible to form Du Fu's unique ideological tone of worrying about the country and the people and not making contributions. Secondly, this is also Du Fu's poetry creation. Such a basic attitude towards life and creation enabled Du Fu to describe reality, society, country and people better than any poet in any era. This is the so-called "stay with an old man and discuss it sooner or later" (one of the two poems "Rain"), which left a magnificent and profound historical picture of the Tang Dynasty for future generations and won a sublime. (Remarks: The fourth point can be a separate topic: the actual influence of Confucian life values on Du Fu's poetry creation. )
