How to understand and transcend yourself

1.

Know yourself and transcend yourself

Students, I believe that after learning the deeds of the "Double Hundred" figures, you will be very moved, and I also hope that I can achieve outstanding achievements like them in the future. In fact, each of our students has a desire to work hard, and each student must have made varying degrees of efforts for this purpose. However, many students often fail to persevere. Once they encounter difficulties, setbacks, or other people's comments, they will feel inferior and confused, and eventually become discouraged and give up their efforts. Moreover, they often have to find reasons for their shrinkage. Reason to forgive yourself. What's the reason? Of course there are various external reasons, but the main reason must be within yourself. The fundamental point is that we fail to understand ourselves correctly. Whether we have low self-esteem, are complacent, are confused, rush around blindly, or shrink back - all of this comes from our failure to truly know and understand ourselves. .

In fact, "knowing yourself" has been an important topic in philosophy since ancient times. The famous saying of the philosopher Socrates is engraved on the temple of Delphi in the ancient Greek holy city - "Know thyself!" This is also what our country has always said: "People need to be self-aware." The so-called "self-knowledge" mainly means that a person should see his own strengths and weaknesses, advantages and disadvantages, and develop his own strengths and make up for his own shortcomings in action. In addition, we must understand that "what I am born with will be useful." Everyone is a unique individual, everyone has his or her own unique endowments and values, and everyone has huge potential that needs to be developed. Therefore, "knowing yourself" must also truly recognize your own uniqueness and develop your most valuable talents. Areas of room for development, thereby striving to realize oneself and become the best version of oneself.

Of course, it is not easy to truly and comprehensively understand yourself. This is the meaning of the old saying: "Onlookers know clearly, but those in authority are confused." So how do you know yourself, transcend yourself, and be the best version of yourself? Here are some suggestions:

1. Have your own role models in mind. The power of role models is endless. We must truly establish role models that we admire and admire in our minds, and use their touching deeds to encourage and spur ourselves. The national "Double Hundred" figures selected last year are the best sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, the most amazing heroic models in the eyes of the people across the country, and our best role models to learn from. I hope that students will study their deeds carefully and keep in mind the deeds of the characters who touched them the most and inspired them the most. In addition, there are many outstanding people in our local area and around us, such as model workers in Wujiang City, advanced figures (including disabled people), and advanced deeds among classmates. We need to be attentive people, observe more, understand more, and communicate more. In a sense, because they are closer to us and have a greater and more direct impact on us, it may be easier to learn.

2. Always reflect on yourself to understand yourself. Ancient Chinese people advocated: "I examine myself three times a day." That is to say, a person should reflect on his own behavior several times a day. We have to speak and do things every day. We will definitely say the right things and do the right things, but it is also inevitable that we will say the wrong things and do the wrong things. Frequent reflection is like looking in the mirror often, and you will be able to discover your own problems in time. Improve yourself by summarizing the experiences and lessons of success and failure. Therefore, self-reflection is very beneficial to correctly understanding oneself, making use of strengths and avoiding weaknesses, and making continuous progress. What I need to remind everyone is that when reflecting on yourself, you should pay attention to three points: First, you must learn to look at the problem in two, not only to see the shortcomings and problems, but also to see the advantages and achievements; not only to see the present How well you have done, you must compare with the past and look at yourself from a developmental perspective; secondly, you must not only pay attention to the evaluation of others from the outside world, but also have a clear self-understanding and make appropriate analysis, because the evaluation of others from the outside world Not all are necessarily correct or appropriate. For example, you must not be complacent with excessive praise, and never be discouraged by excessive belittling. Thirdly, you must correctly compare yourself with others and learn from the strengths of others. Weaknesses: Build confidence through comparison and encourage yourself to make greater efforts, instead of losing confidence, giving up on yourself, and giving up your efforts.

3. Set goals, take solid action, and persevere. Primary school students need to analyze their own situation, have a basic self-identification (mainly advantages and disadvantages, personality, abilities, etc.), and determine appropriate goals for what they want to do (mainly in terms of study, life and social activities). You can choose an appropriate candidate, make up your mind secretly, and set a few goals that must be achieved. It is important to note that the goal should neither be too high - failure to reach it too high will only lead to disappointment, nor too low - if it can be achieved without effort, it will not be conducive to progress; second, it is necessary to list action plans, from easy to difficult , from near to far, gradually implement, reach a point, and then improve a little; third, we must persevere, compare the goals, and implement them effectively, so as to push ourselves to move towards the goals step by step.

1. About fate and potential

Students, you may have read a poem by Bai Juyi, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. The poem begins with The four sentences are as follows: "The grass on the Lili Plain dries up and grows every year. The wildfires are endless, but the spring breeze blows and grows again." It means: In the boundless wilderness, lush green grass grows everywhere, and with the weather seasons These green grasses undergo a change of withering and lushness every year.

Even if the raging wildfire burns the grassland into a piece of scorched earth, it cannot burn away the grass roots deeply rooted in the soil. When the spring breeze blows, these grasses stubbornly dig out of the soil and regain their vitality. You see, these inconspicuous and ordinary weeds have such strong vitality! After we read these four lines of poetry, will we get some insights from them?

Students may have also heard a simple but very touching song called "Little Grass". Its lyrics are as follows: "Without the fragrance of flowers and the height of trees, I am a tree." A grass that no one knows about. Never lonely, never worried, you see my friends are all over the world. Spring breeze, you make me green, sunshine, sunshine, you shine on me, rivers and mountains, you nurture me, the earth. Oh, mother, hug me tightly." The lyrics literally say "little grass", which actually reflects the author's optimistic and enterprising outlook on life. The author of the lyrics is Shi Guangzhu, a battle hero who was blind and wounded in eight places. He joined the army in 1982 and joined the ninth company of a regiment of the Yunnan Border Defense Force. In April 1984, he participated in the self-defense counterattack to regain Laoshan on the Sino-Vietnamese border. His second platoon's mission was to capture Highland 57. When he led his entire platoon to charge toward the high ground, an enemy artillery shell landed on a branch 4 meters above his head and exploded. He was wounded in his left arm, deafened in his right ear, and passed out. When he regained consciousness, he immediately led the soldiers to move forward. At this time, he was injured again by the enemy's grenade. His left eyeball was knocked out of the socket, and his right eyeball was also hit by two pieces of shrapnel. At this time, he had been wounded 4 times and 8 times, but he could not stand on the front line of fire and continued to lead the entire platoon to capture the enemy-occupied high ground in one fell swoop, successfully completing the combat mission. When the rescue team came to rescue him, he still had to stick to his position and refused to get off the line of fire. The doctor could only forcefully anesthetize him before sending him to the rear. After the war, Shi Guangzhu was awarded the honorable title of "Combat Hero" by the Central Military Commission. However, Shi Guangzhu changed from a strong soldier to a severely disabled person who was blind. How he will take the long road in life in the future is actually a more severe test for him. Shi Guangzhu is worthy of being a strong warrior and a strong man in life. He neither regards himself as a hero, rests on his merits and relies on the care of others to live a comfortable life, nor is his confidence in self-reliance and self-improvement crushed by severe disabilities. With an optimistic attitude and tenacious perseverance, he overcame difficulties that are unimaginable for ordinary people, learned Braille, and became the first blind person in my country to obtain a bachelor's degree; he also persisted in literary creation, publishing more than 540 poems and essays at home and abroad, 17 Won the National Literature Award for the second time. At the 1985 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, he influenced and shocked countless Chinese people with his song "Little Grass", which he wrote lyrics for, and became a role model in people's minds. Last year, Comrade Shi Guangzhu was selected as one of the "100 People Who Moved China Since the Founding of New China".

Comrade Shi Guangzhu was awarded the "Double Hundred" figure together with Comrade Zhang Haidi, a heroic model in a wheelchair. Her deeds are equally touching and shocking. Zhang Haidi was smart and cute since she was a child, and loved singing and dancing. However, she unfortunately suffered from spinal hemangioma when she was a child. She underwent three major surgeries before she was 10 years old, and 6 laminae were removed, resulting in high paraplegia, and she lost everything from the second thoracic vertebra below. Perception, I can't take care of myself, let alone go back to school. Let’s put ourselves in his shoes and think about it, what a fatal blow this is to a young girl! However, Zhang Haidi followed the example of a heroic model, and with the encouragement and help of many people, he established confidence in life and bravely fought against fate. She began self-study in the hospital bed and life in a wheelchair. Day after day, year after year, she fought against the disease as well as the difficulties in study and life. No matter how great the difficulties were, she could not be troubled, and no matter how severe the pain was, she could not overcome her. She not only taught herself Chinese, but also learned several foreign languages. Foreign words and various learning contents were written on the walls, tables, lamps, mirrors, and even her hands and arms in her home. Her unremitting efforts finally yielded fruitful results: through long-term self-study, she completed university and master's courses, taught herself English, Japanese, German and Esperanto, and translated the British novels "Seaside Clinic" and "Little Miller's Travels" "Record", "Rebecca in the New Primary School" and other works; she also created her own works such as "Dream in a Wheelchair", "Open the Window to the Sky", "Questioning of Life" and other works. In addition, Zhang Haidi also taught herself more than a dozen medical books and traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture. She used her own body to practice acupuncture and needle twisting. After learning, she treated more than 10,000 people for free; she also went to factories, rural areas, military camps, and schools , uses his laughter, singing and his strong fighting spirit towards destiny to inspire people, especially teenagers, to work hard. According to medical opinion, it is generally difficult for high-level paraplegic patients like Zhang Haidi to live to the age of 27. Facing the threat of death, Zhang Haidi cherishes every moment of his life even more, and uses diligent study and work to extend his life and reflect the value of life.

The result is that Zhang Haidi defeated the disease and created a miracle of life. She is 55 years old this year and was elected as the chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation last year. She is still using her life to serve the disabled across the country and contribute to the people. How amazing this is!

Students, when we lament how amazing Zhang Haidi and Shi Guangzhu are, have we ever thought about why they can create the miracle of life? If there is such a thing as fate, then fate is cruel and unfair to them. However, they are not influenced by fate. Instead, they prove with their actual actions that they are the masters of fate and the changers of fate. So what does this fact mean? I'm afraid it can explain at least two points: First, it shows that a person's potential is unlimited in many aspects. Second, whether and how much a person's potential can be developed depends on his own mental state and efforts. As Pooh said: "Ordinary people obey their fate, and only the strong are their own masters." Young students should be confident, self-reliant, self-reliant in society, and contribute to society and the people. Have requirements for yourself, do not surrender to fate, dare to fight against difficulties, maintain an optimistic and positive attitude, and make unremitting efforts to your greatest extent, so that you can develop more of your potential and create your miracles.

3.

About the Ordinary and the Extraordinary

Perhaps students would like to say that we really admire people like Zhang Haidi and Shi Guangzhu who have created miracles in life. But after all, their situation is special, and there are very few people like them. And we are all ordinary people. When we grow up and enter the society, we will only do ordinary work. It is ordinary and cannot be said to create miracles. Indeed, we are all ordinary people, and the possibility of becoming a celebrity or even a great person is very small. So, does that mean we can’t learn anything from Zhang Haidi and Shi Guangzhu? Let’s look at some more examples!

For example, being a salesperson in a shopping mall is probably an ordinary job. There are so many shopping malls and salespersons across the country. What extraordinary things can be done in such a position? But among the "Double Hundreds" there is such an extraordinary person. He is Zhang Binggui, a nationally renowned model worker and a salesperson at the candy counter of a Beijing department store. On the candy counter, which we think is the simplest thing, he has developed the amazing "one-shot", "one-bite clean" skills and the "fire" service spirit, and has become a banner on the national commercial front. The so-called "accurate grasp" means that he can grasp the exact amount in one grasp. If a customer wants half a catty, he can get 5 taels in one grasp; the so-called "clear in one bite" means that he can quickly settle accounts, even if the customer buys several kinds in two by one catty. Even if there are more than a dozen kinds of candies, he can weigh the candies and calculate them mentally. When the customer reports the type and quantity of candies, he will grab the candies and weigh them while reporting the price. It is really fast and accurate. Beijing Department Store has customers from all over the country, and there is a huge flow of people. In order to speed up the service and improve the quality of service, Zhang Binggui not only practiced the unique skills of "getting it right in one go" and "clearing it in one mouthful", but also invented the "one question, two contact, three ” working method, that is, when receiving a customer, ask the second customer what to buy, and at the same time greet the third customer and be prepared, so that the time to receive a customer is reduced from three or four minutes to one minute. . He also pays attention to studying the different hobbies and characteristics of customers, trying to figure out their psychology, and serving customers enthusiastically and thoughtfully through his eyes, language, movements, expressions, etc., so that customers can feel his true feelings like "a ball of fire". He also compiled his counter service experience into the book "Zhang Binggui's Art of Counter Service" and promoted it to the national business system. In 1978 and 1979, he was awarded the title of Beijing Special Salesperson and the title of National Model Worker. Do you think salespersons like Zhang Binggui are ordinary?

Similar to the salesperson, the postman's job is also an ordinary job. It is really simple to say that it is simple, isn't it just delivering letters, parcels and newspapers? But there was a postman who walked alone, leading a horse, on rugged mountain roads in high mountains and deep valleys at an altitude of about 4,000 meters, sleeping in the open air, enduring hunger and cold, for twenty-four years. Is this simple? This postman is Wang Shunyou from Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, Sichuan Province. The postal route he is responsible for is in the mountains and canyons, with a round-trip mileage of 360 kilometers. It takes 14 days to travel. He has to climb the Chalwa Snow Mountain with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, and walk into the mountains with an altitude of 1,000 meters and a temperature as high as 40 degrees. In the Yalong River Valley, you have to pass through large and small virgin forests and mountain peaks and ridges, and you must be ready to deal with various sudden disasters and accidents at any time. Wang Shunyou spent more than 330 of the 365 days in a year on the postal route. He ate a few mouthfuls of tsampa noodles when he was hungry, drank a few sips of mountain water when he was thirsty, and slept in caves in barren mountains when he was sleepy. Once he suffered an abdominal injury, but endured the pain and insisted on delivering the mail. When he insisted on going to the hospital, he finally collapsed a few hundred meters away from the hospital. Fortunately, someone found him and sent him to the hospital, where he was rescued and rescued.

Students can think about the scene of Wang Shunyou walking alone on the rugged mountain road with his horse. Moreover, he did not walk for a day or a month, but for a year, two years, or twenty-four years. How extraordinary this is. ! He sent greetings from relatives to the villagers in remote mountainous areas, sent information about getting rich through science and technology, and sent care from the party and the government. How significant is this seemingly simple task!

Students, what inspiration can we get from the touching deeds of Zhang Binggui and Wang Shunyou? Although we all hope that when we grow up, we can become the pillars of our motherland. This wish is of course very good, but in fact, most of us may only be ordinary people in ordinary positions. But Zhang Binggui and Wang Shunyou tell us: Ordinary does not mean mediocrity. There is no insurmountable gap between ordinary and great. If you can do ordinary things to the best and to the extreme, it is extraordinary and great. Therefore, we must not only be willing to engage in ordinary work, but also be unwilling to live a mediocre life. We must have a belief in our hearts that no matter what work we do, we must do it well, and we must do it to the letter. Do everything well. In this way, we can fully develop our potential, turn simple into extraordinary, and ordinary into extraordinary. In a sense, this is actually a miracle!

As long as we truly have a role model in our hearts, actions with goals, unwavering execution, and perseverance, then we will be able to understand ourselves, surpass ourselves, and become the best version of ourselves. . And when you become the best version of yourself, you will definitely be successful and happy.

The "Double Hundred" figures and the outstanding people you know are the best proof!
