Basic knowledge of words

Today, I mainly want to know some simple questions about words.

What is a word; The connection and difference between words and poems (metrical poems); Writing skills of words

First of all, what are words?

So what are words?

Ci is one of China's ancient poems. Because it is the lyrics of Lehe, it is also called Quzi Ci, Yuefu, music movement, long and short sentences, poetry, piano music and so on.

Ci is a lyric poem, a Yuefu poem that can be sung with music, and one of the main literary forms in the Tang and Song Dynasties.

Ci, as a genre of China's ancient poetry, is at the same level as regular poetry, Qu, Yuefu before the Tang Dynasty, ancient poetry, Chu Ci and Poem 300, and it is a relatively independent genre. It began in the Liang Dynasty in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and was formed in the Tang Dynasty. After the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, it began to flourish and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty. Therefore, it is commonly known as Song Ci.

Although there are great differences between Ci and modern poetry in form, we must make it clear that the Ci we are talking about now is first of all a poetic style, which is different from modern poetry in form because the language rules it follows are very similar to modern poetry.

Below, briefly introduce the source of words.

As we all know, Ci was the most prosperous in the Song Dynasty, with excellent works one after another and numerous ci circles, which is hard to surpass today. However, anyone who knows a little about Ci knows that the origin of Ci did not come from the Song Dynasty.

There are various opinions about the origin of words:

The word 1. originated from ancient folk songs represented by The Book of Songs.

2. The word originated from the ancient Yuefu.

3. Words come from modern poems or quatrains in the Tang Dynasty.

4. This word originated from "Yan Yue" (Yan Yu è Okoyi Lane ditty).

These statements are inconclusive. It seems that every statement has its own basis. However, the statement that the word originated from "Le Yan" is the most convincing. Storytelling is the gradual integration of the national music imported from the western regions and the old music in the Central Plains in the Tang Dynasty, and Yan music is mainly produced by Hu music. The original neat five-character seven-character poem is no longer suitable, so there are words with different words and more lively forms. That is, "long and short sentences"

So, what is Le Yan?

There is an explanation in Shen Kuo's Meng Qian Bi Tan: "The joy of the former king was elegant music, the new voice of his previous life was clear music, and the joy of rivers and lakes was Yan music." To put it simply, Le Yan is a well-known song handed down by Okoyi in the Western Regions.
