Appreciation of Adrienne Ritchie's love poem Don't be sad when you leave.

Adrianna Ritchie (USA)

My spinning desire. Your cold lips.

Grammar turned against me.

The subject of forced writing.

The blank space of the tag.

They gave me a medicine to delay the healing of the wound.

Before I go, I hope you can understand:

Experiencing repetition is like experiencing death.

Criticism finds no pain.

The poster on the bus declared:

My bleeding is under control.

A red tree in a plastic wreath cemetery.

One last effort: Language is a way of speaking called metaphor.

Hair, glaciers, lightning: these images have not been polished;

When I think of scenery, I think of time.

When I say go out, I mean goodbye.

I can say that these mountains have their meaning.

But I can't say anything else.

Do something very common, in my own way.

Adrianna Ritchie (1929 ~) is one of the most active female poets in contemporary America. Her first book of poetry was published in university, when her poetry style was elegant and delicate, and was obviously influenced by Ye Zhi and Frost. With the turn of American trend poetry in the late 1950s, Richie accepted the influence of Williams and Rochel. It can be seen from her 1955 collection of poems "Diamond" and 1962 "Daughter-in-law Snapshot" that her poetic style has become straightforward, which also maintains her ability to deal with delicate structures and complex symbols obtained from strict poetry training.

As a poet, Richie is particularly sensitive to the sufferings of women in American society, and many of her poems express this feeling. Parting without sadness is one of her love poems. When we appreciate it, we give readers a realistic theme that transcends the content of ordinary love poems and reveals a distant artistic conception, an unconventional artistic expression.

Goethe once said: "A poet should only show what is alive and continues to play a role, no matter what form it may take ..." In Parting Don't be sad, the poet did not write the sad and depressed mood of "cold and lonely" and "miserable", but chose the parting of "lovers" as the material, revealing the theme that women in capitalist society bid farewell to their old marriages and pursue a new life. The poetic soul transcends the general love tone of lingering, helplessness, "constant cutting and chaotic reasoning" and reaches a certain ideological height and artistic effect.

This poem begins with "I want to spin". Your cold lips. "Cut to the chase and open a gap to uncover the soul of poetry-I decided to leave you because I was pursuing a new sky, and when I left, you were upset and sad. When I left, "grammar turned to attack me" and "I" was suppressed and whipped by the secular. " They gave me a medicine to delay the wound healing, which shows the attack of capitalist society on women's freedom and liberation. But "I" did not give up the pursuit of a new life, because "experiencing repetition is like experiencing death", the "cage" of the old marriage. The doctrine of "I" has been decided. When I think of scenery and time, I am full of longing and confidence for tomorrow. The future "scenery" is already in my mind, and now I just need "time" to work hard and fight for it. Therefore, I resolutely left "you" to live my own life and have my own life.

Although this is a farewell poem, the tone of the whole poem is fresh, lively and positive. The poet's description of the hero's mood when he left is calm and comfortable. "criticism can't find pain points." Although the slander and attack caused by my departure left a touch of pain and helplessness in my heart, I felt happy rather than sad at the thought of the future scenery, posters in the bus at Palace x * * and my bleeding was under control. Here, in order to achieve the purpose of writing this poem, the poet not only used the beauty of words and sentences, but also mainly used the power of suggestion. The poet does not pay attention to the clarity and transparency of expression, so that all profound meanings pop out on paper. Instead, he skillfully uses the method of revealing the hidden, that is, the combination of reality and reality, which binds feelings and scenery together, such as "a mangrove tree in a plastic wreath cemetery". At first glance, the sentence is incoherent and unsatisfactory. But the power implied in this sentence is "take one as ten", which is the "finishing touch" of the whole poem. The "graveyard" represents a marriage deprived of freedom, without happiness and anger. The "plastic wreath" is a "mangrove" without soul and life, only for people to enjoy and play. The author's application of this technique is to let readers supplement the poet's unfinished words in imagination and understand and perceive them alone, but the deep meaning has been exhausted and the fog has risen in the haze.

The whole poem is written naturally and beautifully. The poet did not deliberately carve sentences, but the melody helped convey the spirit, and he felt comfortable and memorable after reading it. "Touching people, don't worry about feelings first" and "indifferent emotions, don't worry about truth" show that the poet writes with his heart and is a deep feeling and experience of life. Emotions flowed from his heart, turned into lines and merged into an article. Judging from the overall situation of poetry, the structure of poetry is perfect. The poem is from My Wish Spinning. Your cold lips ",and then made a series of confessions-"the theme of being forced to write. Mark the blank ","these images have not been polished "until" but I can't say anything further than this ". If the poem ends here, then what the poet presents to the readers can only be said to be a theme without sublimation-no patient expectation, confusion after waking up, only consciousness without action. The beauty lies in the last sentence "Do a very common thing in my own way", which truly constitutes the unity of the whole poem. This whole reflects my ideological height of sober hope and down-to-earth struggle for the moment, while "doing" allows readers to see the actual action of "I". It avoids the one-sided view that only trees can't see the forest.

Poetry is a painted window pane. The poet chooses the material of the most common "parting scene" as the pigment and background color of the poem, but what is shown to the reader through color is the theme of women's struggle for self-determination and ending unhappy marriage, which is the artistic effect and ideological height of this poem.

Richie's "Parting Without Sorrow" is vivid and profound, which is closely related to her keen thinking and her struggle for women's rights. This is a poetess who loves life and freedom.
