The moon rises from the rocks and shines brightly on the whole stream. The smoke is as white as a cloud, and the stream gurgles towards the temple in this wilderness. The first couplet, "The moon rises from the top of the rock and a wisp of smoke shines down", describes that the moon rises from the top of the high rock and the moonlight shines on the earth, laying a homesick atmosphere and tone for the whole poem.
