Historical Development of Languan Ancient Road

The Languan Ancient Road is called Xiongguan Mountain to the east of the ridge, and it has been guarded by the army for generations. The peaks on both sides face each other, and the mountains are high and steep. In the past, Languan was the main road of Chaozhou and Meizhou, and it was the only way for all previous dynasties to demote officials and exile ministers. In the Qing Dynasty, Tan Cui's Chu Zhu Ting Lu recorded the words "After the death of Han Wengong, he went from Laolong to Qiling".

After Han Yu's tears flowed through Languan, the people of Longchuan built the Han Wengong Temple in Languan to commemorate this scholar, essayist and philosopher for future generations to pay tribute to.

In the old days, there were some beautiful couplets in Hanyu Temple in Longchuan, which summarized Hanyu's life and academic achievements. Couplets are neat and smooth, full of artistic appeal, and literati are moved by it. Among them, there is a couplet in the temple: "After entering the school, it has been solved, and three idle officials; Rise and fall, make a series of six classics (advanced understanding: Han Yu's famous articles; Shi San: Han Yu was originally a doctor in Guo Zi, but later he was transferred to the post of Foreign Minister, and later he was demoted as a doctor in Guo Zi. "Eight generations of decline, since the article respect eight fights; Advocating the four schools means emphasizing the eastern suburbs today (Su Shi's Monument to the Chinese Temple "The decline of eight generations of literature, the Tao has drowned itself in the world").

Many literati, when paying homage to the temple of Han Wen Gong, also wrote poems, describing the scenery of Longchuan, praising the legacy of Wen Gong and remembering Han Yu's life and morality.

In addition to the Chinese temple, there are ancient buildings such as Confucius Temple and Languan Temple. For thousands of years, in Longchuan, Han Yu had a far-reaching influence. Dengyun Town, where Lan Guan is located, has always attached great importance to studying and being an official. Deng Yunren would rather burn quicklime, mow grass on the roadbed, suffer hardships and starve, and provide education for their children. There are many stories about "a straw can pick out a champion in this subject".
