Abai's poetics

Abai is an outstanding Kazakh democratic poet in the19th century, and occupies a particularly important position in the history of Kazakh literature. He not only wrote many political lyrics against feudalism, tribal privileges and religious superstitions, but also wrote a collection of essays called Abai Proverbs, which was hailed as an encyclopedia, and also wrote many poetics. It is worth noting that Abai's poetics are all written in the form of poems. Some are devoted to poetry, and some are four lines and one section, which are scattered in lyric poems and philosophical poems of other themes.

The form of poetics appeared earlier in the literature of other countries and nations. Abroad, boileau, a French literary critic in the17 ~18th century, wrote The Art of Poetry in the form of poetry. In our country, it can be said that there is poetry, that is, there is poetry. Quatrains were very popular in the Tang Dynasty and have continued to this day. Although Abai wrote essays at a time close to ours, at that time, his nation was still chasing weeds, and its scientific and cultural level was very backward, and written literature was still in its infancy. Therefore, Abai's poetics cannot but have the characteristics of that era. Unlike boileau's "The Art of Poetry", which has tens of thousands of words, its tentacles have gone beyond the broader artistic field of poetry and won the favor of the whole of Europe. Unlike the poetic quatrains of famous poets in the Tang Dynasty, it has a strong lyrical color. Readers can enjoy three favorite poems from Crisp Fragrance as Old as Age. Abai's On Poetry often uses much shorter poems to express his understanding of some problems in poetry creation, and sometimes even "violates" the artistic law and puts a few lines of abstract reasoning into the image description. But Abai's poems on poetry have won the admiration of his nation. Not only people who lived a nomadic life in the19th century and had a low level of literary appreciation liked Abai's On Poetry, but even Kazakh writers, poets and literary critics today spoke highly of Abai's On Poetry. This is a very correct evaluation.

Abai's poems on poetry, as well as poems on other subjects, including poetics, are about ten. In addition to poetry being the emperor of language, there are other famous works, such as poetry being your lifelong companion, the eagle of the soul, if a family has a funeral accident, and so on. Abai's main arguments about poetry appear alternately in several poems, and their views are basically the same. It can be inferred that his idea of exploring the artistic law of poetry and defending Kazakh poetry has a long history. Any of his poems are not the product of accidental feelings, but the crystallization of his long-term artistic practice, which represents his aesthetic pursuit and ideal.
