King Gui and Li Xiangxiang are the awakened peasant images who participated in the revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the China Producer Party. They fought bravely for the interests of themselves and their classes, and their support for the revolution came from the heart. The successful shaping of such a full and vivid artistic image is itself a hymn to the victory of the people's revolution. It is of great significance that such an image appears in new poetry works. Since the May 4th Movement, the creation of China's new poetry has experienced long-term evolution and changes, during which it has experienced many struggles. Revolutionary poets have made great efforts and made great achievements in order to reflect the voice of the people and praise their heroic struggle. However, revolutionary poetry has a common shortcoming, that is, there is still a long way to go from artistic form and language to the intellectual spirit of thoughts and feelings. Since Yan 'an Literature and Art Rectification Movement, Comrade Mao Zedong's speech has pointed out a way for the vast number of literary and art workers to contact the masses, which has brought the development of revolutionary literature and art into a new historical period. Compared with the outstanding works of people's literature and art such as Brothers and Sisters, White-haired Girl and Li Youcai Banhua, Wang Gui and Li Xiangxiang appeared a little later, but they reflected their struggle life in a form that the working people loved and loved in poetry creation, and created such a rich and vivid artistic image, which cannot be said to be an epoch-making creative contribution. Guo Moruo praised this poem as a "resounding signal" from "turning over" to "turning over in literature" (Note: Preface to Wang Gui and Li Xiangxiang), which is the reason.

The whole work is nearly 1000 lines, all written by the folk "Xintianyou" circulating in northern Shaanxi, which can be said to be the first to open the atmosphere. There are many wonderful sentences in folk songs, which have played a very good role in character description and theme expression. The application of the technique of comparison is the characteristic of "believing in heaven" The work has absorbed this point in many aspects, and it also presents a lively and colorful state in specific sports. Bixing is often used in the first sentence of every poem, and the comparison between the two makes it prosperous. If the first sentence is a narrative, the second sentence must be "compared", otherwise the poem will appear bland, and the work should try to avoid this situation. In addition, the same thing can also be extended to a variety of figurative meanings, such as "Shandandan flowers are red and beautiful", which is a comparison between Xing and Zhong, and a comparison for the next sentence to praise Xiangxiang talents. "Shandandan flowers bloom in the back", which is also the comparison between Xing and China. It is because the "good thoughts" that have just begun cannot be made public. The use of metaphor in the works is not only wonderful and appropriate, but also widely used, which enhances the vividness and expressiveness of the language. The rhythm of poetry is smooth and lively, but it also appears natural and harmonious, and there is no problem of roughness. All these show that the author is familiar with this folk song form and mass language, and is good at absorbing nutrition from it, so that the language of the work has the characteristics of image beauty and music beauty in simplicity and becomes a truly artistic poetic language.

This work appeared at that time. As Comrade Lu pointed out, it "created a new set" from content to form. In the field of poetry creation, it "showed the victory of the new-democratic literary movement over the feudal comprador reactionary literary movement" (Note: Lu: "Read a poem", Liberation Daily, September 28 1946). This is the first excellent people's poem inspired by the spirit of the speech.
