The drama history of the more vulgar theater

One hundred years ago, Mr. Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist and educator in China, sensitively realized that "education takes drama as its susceptibility" from the perspective of artistic aesthetic education. Most Nantong people will never forget that at No.46 Taowu Road, there is a unique theater culture and art hall-Yuesu Theater. "More Vulgar" narrates Mr. Zhang Jian's friendly exchanges with great artists such as Mei Lanfang and Ou Yangyuqian, and tells the story of an industrialist and an artist working hand in hand. "More Vulgar" is a precious cultural heritage left by Mr. Zhang Jian to Nantong among countless river and sea cultural resources.

19 19 At the suggestion of Ou Yangyuqian, Mr. Zhang Jian established the Gong Ling Society to train drama talents. At that time, Mr. Zhang Jian founded a "more vulgar theater" in the southwest of Nantong City and the west end of Taowu Road, which was first-class in the country. This theater was designed by Sun Zhixia, a famous architect, imitating the new stage in Shanghai. Its appearance is horseshoe-shaped, consisting of audience hall, stage, quadrangular actor dormitory and Mayo Hall. The audience hall is divided into two floors, with seats1200; The stage facilities are complete and the equipment is advanced. At the beginning of the establishment of the hospital, Zhang Jian invited Mei Lanfang, a master of Beijing Opera, to perform his masterpiece Drunkenness of the Imperial Lady, which he devoted his life to, and to perform with Ou Yangyuqian. Mr. Zhang Jian advocates that artists should work together, learn from each other's strengths and make progress together. Therefore, the Mayo Pavilion was specially set up in a relatively vulgar theater to commemorate and praise the outstanding achievements and unity and cooperation of the two artists. Mayo Pavilion is located on the upper floor of the main entrance of Gengsu Theater, with three blue brick houses and two balconies, about 80 square meters. Mr. Zhang Jian imitated Weng Tonghe's font, inscribed the calligraphy plaque "Mei Ou Ge", and inscribed the book couplet "South Learning and North Learning are interlinked, Wanling and Luling are ancient people today". There are 65,438+02 Zhang Mei and European stills hanging on the walls on both sides. Mei's stills include "The Goddess Scatters Flowers" and "Daiyu Buries Flowers" on the glass frame, and there are all kinds of photos of Mei Lanfang from the contemporary era, which were taken in Lunbu, in front of the theater, Haonan, bus shelters and other places. The window of Meiyue Pavilion is bright and clean, elegant and refined, which attracts many literati to recite poems and paint here. 1920, Mr. Zhang Jian carved "Mei Ou Ting Poetry". In addition to the poems of Zhang, Mei and Ou, there are also works by celebrities from all walks of life, such as Lu Lusheng, Fang, Cao Wenlin and An. Meiyue Pavilion Memorial Hall is the first modern drama memorial hall in China. It remembers Mr. Zhang Jian's friendship with great artists such as Mei Lanfang and Ou Yangyuqian, and even tells the story of a great industrialist joining hands with two great artists. Mayo Hall is not only of far-reaching significance in the domestic drama circle, but also has a wide influence internationally.
