Brothers should live together in harmony

Gideon and the three hundred men who followed him pursued the enemy. Although they were tired, they still pursued. Gideon said to the men of Succoth, "Please bring bread for my men to eat, for they are tired. We are pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the two kings of Midian."

The leaders of the Succothites answered and said, "Zebah and Zalmunna are in your hand. Do you want us to give bread to your army?" These Succothites, like Gideon, were Israelites. It really chills the hearts of people to see their brothers starve in order to destroy the invaders without contributing any food. So Gideon said to the men of Succoth, "After the LORD delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will smite you with thorns and thorns of the field."

Gideon came again. Gideon asked the people of Peniel, where the Israelites also lived, for food, and the men of Peniel answered him with the same words as the men of Succoth. He said to the people of Peniel: "When I come back in peace, I will tear down this tower."

There is a verse in "Psalms" that says how good it is for brothers to live together in peace. How beautiful. People living together in harmony is the outcome that Jehovah wants; people living in harmony is also a prerequisite for serving God. If people are not in harmony, God's cause will be delayed. The Israelites living in Succoth and Peniel were so alienated that they eventually disappeared into the desert and their homes were occupied by outsiders.
