The power of spirit

-Wang Jiaxin's "A Chopper for Winter" research.

Wang Jiaxin's "A Chopper for Winter" depicts a very spiritual man with simple sentences. Through these simple lines, things that shock the soul will directly wedge into our hearts.

The first section is an abstract summary of the woodcutter's spiritual strength. The poet compared it with the faint sunshine, highlighting the vitality that the woodcutter injected into winter, aiming to show that people's inner strength, courage and confidence to overcome the cold are far greater than the warmth given by nature.

In the second section, the poet wrote about the skillful movements of the woodcutter, and his hands entered things "forcefully" and "accurately". Skilled movements come from repeated practice in daily work, which shows that workers have already had the ability to overcome nature in the long-term struggle with nature, and this ability to overcome nature is enough to make people moved and admired, so the poet wrote, "I was moved and horrified by his involvement in things."

In the third section, the poet compares the woodcutter with winter to describe his psychological characteristics. If the contrast between the woodcutter and the sunshine in the first season is positive, then the contrast between here and winter is negative, which can better show the grandeur and greatness of the woodcutter's spiritual strength. Judging from the description of poetry, calmness and concentration are two ideological qualities that the poet extracted from the woodcutter. These two ideological qualities are valuable and extraordinary. Only those who have reached a certain spiritual level can have these two qualities. Once they possess these precious qualities, one can overcome all difficulties and setbacks.

In the fourth section, the poet looks back at his own existence with the courage and strength of the woodcutter in the face of winter. The poet thinks that writing, as a way of life, looks a little pale and powerless compared with the courage and firmness of the woodcutter to directly fight against the severe winter. Therefore, in the poet's eyes, the moment when the woodcutter threw down his axe was more powerful and tolerant than a revolution, and it made me feel the hypocrisy and weakness of writing.

The last paragraph is the poet's natural association and a comment on the woodcutter's infinite spiritual strength.

Generally speaking, the poet endowed the woodcutter with the spiritual power to capture the human soul, making it a manifestation of the real state of human beings. Because "man is the spirit, and man's state as a human being is a state of mind", the woodcutter showed the connotation of human life. Praising people's spiritual strength is Wang Jiaxin's consistent ideological theme. We might as well say that "Pasternak" sung in the poet's later poem "Pasternak" is a "woodcutter for winter". The power of example is enormous. From the woodcutter's accurate and powerful chopping action in winter, we also gained confidence and courage to overcome winter.
