China's traditional literary creation is inseparable from two styles, namely realism and romanticism. The Book of Songs and Songs of the South are the most important poems of China in the pre-Qin period. It had a great and far-reaching influence on China's later poems and even the whole ancient literature of China.
There are only two masterpieces of China's ancient literature: The Book of Songs and Songs of the South. These two masterpieces were the products of the 3rd and 4th centuries BC (the middle of Shang Dynasty) to the 6th century BC (Hanzhong Leaf). The Book of Songs is a collection of folk poems in northern China from the 3rd and 4th centuries BC to the 6th century BC (The Book of Songs is very miscellaneous, but there are most folk poems).
Songs of the South of China is a collection of works from 3rd century BC to AD 1 th century, some of which were copied by "non-southerners". As far as China's ancient literature is concerned, there are no more important and great literary works except The Book of Songs and Songs of the South.
《? Before and after the period of Confucius and Mencius, politicians often quoted a poem or two from The Book of Songs as the basis for debate and satire. Writers and missionaries often quote a poem or two from The Book of Songs as evidence for propaganda or discussion. After the Han Dynasty, The Book of Songs became one of the "Chinese Bibles", and its authority was naturally maintained forever.
《? There are 305 poems in The Book of Songs. According to legend, there are still six strike songs, such as Nanxun and Baihua, which died of righteousness. Do all the poems in The Book of Songs have scores? Fruit can be fun? This is a big problem. In the Book of Songs, there seems to be a clear difference between the poems that are enjoyable and those that are not enjoyable. Look closely and you will know. Therefore, the poems in The Book of Songs are all music songs with music scores at that time, and the reasons are far-fetched. We modern people should bravely distinguish the nature of poetry from our own.
Although there are only 305 ancient poems in The Book of Songs (and there are few others), many of these 305 poems are repetitive. Because of regional differences and different application time, one poem has evolved into two or three. The Book of Songs has given us many treasures of lyric poetry in literature. At the same time, it also gives great value to China's historiography.
Although The Songs of the South are not as popular as The Book of Songs, their influence on literature is even greater than The Book of Songs. As for Songs of the South, fortunately, it was a work of the Warring States period, which Confucius never read or edited. Therefore, Han Confucianism barely knows its true face, and the most influenced by Chu Ci is naturally the Han, Three Kingdoms and Six Dynasties. Since the Warring States Period, almost all the literary history of China has been influenced by Chu Ci.
Songs of the South is a collection of poems. The poems selected in The Book of Songs are all from the north, while those selected in The Songs of the South are all from the south. ? Qu Yuan is the greatest writer in Chu Ci. Except for a few other writers' works, all Songs of the South can be a collection of Qu Yuan's works.
《? Almost all the poems in The Book of Songs were written by unknown writers. In the history of China's ancient literature, it is impossible to find a poet who is greater than him or comparable to him. For the textual research of Qu Yuan's works, you can refer to Historical Records and Biography of Qu Yuan, and you can find Li Sao and Nine Chapters for Poets.
Under the historical background at that time, no great poet's life can be consistent with the emotions and events described in Li Sao and other works. In Li Sao, Qu Yuan's literary genius developed to a very high level. He used his highest imagination to melt everything in nature and all the people in the past in history into his wandering and miserable state of mind. He gathered many historical figures and mythical figures in one place, which made us not only feel boring, but also interesting. For example, after reading a beautiful myth, he was unconsciously taken to his imaginary country, but he liked to travel with him.
The nine works of Nine Chapters are independent, and the writing time is far from each other. By reading these nine works, we can see Qu Yuan's life and thoughts more clearly. Song Yu is another great Chu Ci writer after Qu Yuan. There are only two of his works in Songs of the South, one is Nine Arguments and the other is Evocation.
《? Different from The Book of Songs, Songs of the South is a poet's creation, a product of his ideal, a poet's confession of his seclusion and melancholy, and a work that wants to transcend the turbid current of the real society.
