1, the prosperity of literature in an era with a large number, first and foremost, is of course manifested in the richness of quantity. The same is true of the prosperity of Tang poetry. With the total number of poems and songs in the Tang Dynasty, it is difficult to make a comprehensive and accurate statistics today. However, The Complete Works of Tang Poetry compiled during the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty left us a record of the prosperity of Tang poetry (1). According to the preface written by Kangxi, The Whole Tang Poetry contains more than 2,200 poets, 48,900 poems and 900 volumes. Among them, there are 69 1 anthologists (Tang Yin Gui Jian), and this collection is probably not the most comprehensive. This is because, in the Tang Dynasty, when printing was not popular, the spread of works mainly depended on handwriting, so it is possible that some works will be lost soon because of the lack of communication environment. Secondly, since the Tang Dynasty has been more than 1000 years ago, many Tang poems are likely to be lost in the process of circulation. In Carving Zhang Ji, Han Yu said that the poems of Li Bai and Du Fu are "a thousand poems in a lifetime, and the beauty of gold is also." "But" human beings are just a drop in the ocean ".Great poets like Li and Du are still like this, and the situation of others can be imagined. Thirdly, The Complete Poems of Tang Dynasty in Qing Dynasty were mainly based on Ji's Poems of Tang Dynasty and Hu Zhenheng's Poems of Tang Yin Tong Qian. Although these two schools were diligent in the search for Tang poetry, they could not be complete and meticulous because of the constraints at that time. Therefore, the total number of poems and songs in the Tang Dynasty is far more than 48,900 (2). However, in less than 300 years, poetry creation has made such a great harvest, which is a great spectacle in the history of China's poetry.
2. The prosperity of exquisite Tang poetry is not only manifested in quantity, but also in its quality. Great achievements have been made in the perfect combination of thought and art in Tang poetry, including not only great poets such as Li Bai and Du Fu, but also a large number of outstanding poets such as Wang Wei, Meng Haoran, Bai Juyi, Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan, Liu Yuxi, Li He, Li Shangyin and Du Mu. The overall level of Tang poetry surpassed that of any period in the history of China. As for the artistry and ideology of Tang poetry, we will discuss it further later. Here's an example to explain it briefly. In the whole Tang poetry, there is a poet Jin Changxu, and only one poem has been handed down from generation to generation, which can be said to be the youngest poet. But his artistic achievements in this poem named "Spring Complaints" are amazing. "Get rid of the oriole, get rid of all the music on the tree. When she dreamed that she went to meet him in Liaoxi camp, they woke her up. " When we first read this poem, we not only wondered why the young woman in the boudoir took it out on the oriole bird in the tree and drove it away from the tree to stop it from singing. It turned out that the chirping of orioles woke her up from her dream, so what was her dream? Why did she get angry when she woke up? At the end of the sentence, we realized that her dream was to meet her husband in western Liaoning. The singing of the oriole woke her up and prevented her from meeting her husband in her dream. The short span of 20 crosses vividly depicts a woman's infatuation and infatuation with missing her husband in the boudoir. We cannot but admire the poet's profound artistic accomplishment and artistic expression. The whole poem, such as reeling, is both fascinating and tactful. This shows the exquisite art of Tang poetry.
