This poem shows some resentment against the dark reality, but more is to express the despair of the whole world. "Sorrow" seems to be an innate puzzling thing. Life is not a dream, nor is it as sweet and naive as romanticism describes, but it has a deep bitterness. Wei Erlun is good at depicting loneliness and depression. Corresponding to this kind of content, he advocates "no color, only shadows". It is this most famous poem, Qiu Ge, that I first met him. This poem takes autumn sound, autumn wind and autumn leaves as "shadows", which renders the poet's inner sadness. The original translated poem I read is like this: the violin croakes in autumn, and it is sad. The bell vibrates like dust, and the past is unforgettable. Autumn wind, my heart is broken, my soul is lonely. Who knows? Wandering around all day is difficult to settle down, and the fallen leaves return to the west! Baudelaire, a pioneer of western symbolism and a French poet, believes that the world is cruel and the purpose of poetry is to vent "the distress of life".
