In 2014, when the staff of the Forbidden City were cleaning up cultural relics, they discovered two boxes with "Qianlong's Poems" written on them. They contained more than 28,000 Qianlong's poems, plus those that had been stored previously. There are more than 17,000 songs, and the total number is more than 45,000, which is basically consistent with the previous inference.
You must know that during the 289 years of the Tang Dynasty, more than 2,000 poets appeared. The poems they wrote are collected in a book called "Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty", which adds up to more than 48,000 poems. Qianlong, on the other hand, arrogantly dominated the crowd with just one person. It is said that this literary young man started writing poems when he was more than ten years old. He used poems to record his life. Calculating this, he would write an average of 2 poems a day. In these poems, everything from astronomy and geography to trivial matters are covered.
Since ancient times, we have paid attention to Tang poetry and Song poetry, because the poetry, poetry and poetry of these two dynasties were at the highest level in feudal history. But poetry is not exclusive to the Tang and Song dynasties. There were also many famous poets in the Ming and Qing dynasties in later generations. Take the Qing Dynasty as an example. Zheng Banqiao and Gong Zizhen in the Qing Dynasty were all very excellent poets. Among the many poets in the past dynasties, the most dazzling ones are the poet Li Bai and the poet Du Fu, and many of their poems have been handed down.
Some people say that the reason why Li Bai and Du Fu can become gods in the poetry world is because they write poems all day long, so they have so many poems left. To put it bluntly, they write too much. , naturally there are many excellent products. Speaking of this, Lu You, a free man in the Song Dynasty, laughed. He lived for more than eighty years and wrote more than 10,000 poems in his life. Before he died, he would write a sentence: Wang Shibei set the day of the Central Plains, and he never forgot to tell Nai Weng about family sacrifices. . You and I have more poems than you? Well, 10,000 poems is quite a lot, and the "Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty" is only 50,000. Lu You suddenly surpassed one-fifth of the three hundred years of the Tang Dynasty. So he is the poet who wrote the most poetry in ancient times? Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty smiled. I, an old man named Shiquan, lived for more than eighty years and wrote more than 43,000 poems in one poem. I am the well-deserved number one.
Emperor Qianlong once visited the south in winter and passed by the West Lake in Hangzhou. It happened to be snowing. The beautiful scenery of the West Lake and the rare heavy snow gave it a unique artistic conception. As a result, Emperor Qianlong became very popular in poetry and said, "One piece after another." The ministers headed by He Shen clapped their hands and applauded. Emperor Qianlong was very excited after hearing this, and then said: three pieces, four pieces, five or six pieces. This is a bit embarrassing. Even a child can write a poem of this level, but no one wants to say it, so everyone continues to applaud. Taking advantage of the excitement, Emperor Qianlong started again: seven pieces, eight pieces, and ninety pieces. At this time, the atmosphere was extremely solemn. Even He Shen didn't know how to end it, and Emperor Qianlong didn't know what to do either. Suddenly, a thin scholar in the crowd came forward. His name was Shen Deqian. He said to Qianlong: The emperor's poems are really good, but I am dull and willing to invite the dog's tail to follow the mink.
"Flying Snow"
"Flying Snow" (Qing Dynasty/Aixinjueluo Hongli)
One piece after another, two pieces, three pieces and four pieces Five slices.
Six pieces, seven pieces, eighty-nine pieces flew into the reed flowers and disappeared.
When Qianlong heard that someone asked him to step down, of course he readily agreed, so Shen Deqian opened his mouth and said: The plum blossoms will disappear even if they fly into it. This last sentence is not only brilliant, but also very consistent with the previous one. This kind of dog-wei Qianlong is very satisfied. So Emperor Qianlong happily said, since you are a mink, I will reward you with a mink coat. As for that poem, it was naturally included in the poetry collection of Emperor Qianlong. Qianlong wrote so many poems, but why none of them have been handed down? The only reason is that the quality of them is too low, and there is no profound meaning. After all, Qianlong himself was a dandy, so naturally he could not write any fine works, only high quantity.
