How to explain James 1 verses 2 to 8?

James 1 Interpretation of Chapters 2 to 8:

Jas. 1: 2 "My brothers, consider it great joy that you fall into all kinds of trials; 」

My brothers, whenever you fall into various trials, take it as great joy; 」

[Original meaning] "Fall into" fall into; "Various" colors, colors and tastes; "Trial" means testing, experiment, inspection, experiment and verification; "think", as, count; Great joy is full of joy, great joy and complete joy.

[Text Note] "Brothers, you are in all kinds of trials." "My brothers" refer to brothers and sisters in the Lord (see 2: 1). One of the characteristics of this book is to repeatedly address the recipient as "brother" (reference1:2:16:19; 2. 1,5, 14; Three 1, 10,12; Four11; 57,9, 10, 12, 19), indicating the close relationship between them; "Trapped" means that the environment you encounter is not brought by yourself deliberately, but comes naturally; All kinds of trials refer to all kinds of trials, including diseases, poverty, persecution, exploitation, natural and man-made disasters, death and other painful or annoying things.

"Trial" refers to suffering. The original text is the same as the word "trial" later in this chapter (see section 12), but the two meanings are different according to the context. "Trial" refers to the suffering that comes to us from outside in order to test and perfect us (see section 3-4). "Seduction" refers to the pain caused by selfish desires to induce us to commit crimes (see section 14~ 15).

"Everyone should think of it as great joy", and "thinking" in the original text does not mean any hesitation or uncertainty, but after "sitting down to calculate or consider" (road14: 28,365,438+0), the following conclusion is reasonable after confirmation; Great joy means not only the great degree of joy, but also that there is no other feeling except joy.

(1) According to the original text, there are words such as "whenever", "whenever" or "whenever" in front of this section, indicating that it is inevitable that believers will be tried. In addition, the term "trials in various ways" shows that trials will not only come at any time, but also appear in different forms.

(2) All the experiences of believers are arranged or allowed by God, with the purpose of benefiting us (Romans. 8: 28). Therefore, whatever happens to us, whether it is good or bad, whether it is sweet or bitter, we should accept it gladly.

(3) No matter what kind of trial, it is the training of Christian character, which can help us develop the virtue of patience (see section 3) and then become a complete Christian (see section 4), so we should regard it as great joy.

(4) Most people regard trial as a harmful experience, so they avoid trial; But we Christians should regard trial as a beneficial experience, so we are willing to accept it.

(5) The joy of Christians is not caused by the external prosperity, but by the inner joy. Although they are in a difficult situation, they can still enjoy themselves (see Acts 16: 25).

(6) We can be happy in any environment; If we can't be happy, it's because our hearts and minds are out of order (see Phil. 4: 4,7).

(7) Those who are truly saved by grace and reborn in the spirit have opened their hearts (Acts 26 18), so they should have different views on themselves and what happened around them, and should be measured by spiritual views and eternal values, rather than external gains and losses.

(8) The joy of believers can vary with their inner consciousness; For anything, the inner joy is the same as the actual joy.

(9) whatever is helpful to our spirituality deserves our great joy; Physical well-being and spiritual comfort are not worth feasting on.

Jas. 1: 3 "Knowing that your faith has been tried, you are patient."

"Because you know that your faith has passed the test, you can have perseverance."

[Original meaning] "inspection" (the original text is used to check the purity of gold and determine whether all impurities have been removed); Textual research after the "test", passed the test and passed; Birth, production, operation and manufacturing; Patience is persistence and perseverance.

[Text Note] "Knowing that your faith has been tested" and "Because" point out the reasons why you can still get great joy in a difficult situation (see section 2); The word "know" used in the original text means that this kind of knowledge is not objective knowledge, but subjective knowledge produced by life experience; "Your faith" refers to the faith that Christians have gained in Christ (see 1 Pet. 2. 1: 1), which points to the Lord Jesus Christ (see 2:1); The word "try" in the original text refers to the process of smelting metal with fire. The main intention is not to identify its authenticity, but to purify its impurities. "Confidence has been tested" means that confidence can only be purified and strengthened after being tested by the external environment, and its innocence can be confirmed.

"Patience is innate", and "patience" does not mean passive patience, but the ability to actively cope with difficulties. This "patience" is a virtue, which comes from the experiment of confidence, and it can also be said to be a normal "behavior" of confidence (see 2: 14, 17).

(1) "know" shows that the joy of Christians (see section 2) is not without reason; We can still rejoice in trials, because we know that trials will bring us benefits.

(2) The dilemma of life is the laboratory of our confidence; Our confidence has been tested in various ways (see section 2), and its innocence was immediately verified.

(3) "Various tests" (see Section 2) can prove the quality of people's confidence and increase its value; Confidence that has been tested unswervingly is really good confidence.

(4) A person with pure faith can stand any test. In other words, how much confidence a person has can be known after the exam.

(5) The patience of Christians is by no means passive, inactive, passive or forced, but a positive, active, confrontational and victorious ability in the face of external pressures and difficulties.

(6) "primitive patience" shows that we don't have this patience, because it is a tested product; In other words, there is no real patience without painful training.

(7) Adversity breeds patience (Romans. 5.3). True patience comes from spiritual experience. The more trials, the more patience. Less trials mean less patience.

(8) Patience is not self-inhibition; Patience is a new life of "living by faith" and a natural response to difficulties, so "I" will not feel tired.

Jas. 1: 4 "But patience should also succeed, so that you may be perfect, perfect and want nothing."

"But patience should be perfect, so that you can be complete and complete, and you don't lack anything."

[Original meaning] "Success" completes the desire, achieves the goal, and achieves all the effects, completely; "Perfection" (the same word as "success"); "perfection" is perfection and perfection; Lack, stay.

"But patience will lead to success", and "success will lead to success" means that we should persevere and constantly defeat the enemy until we reach the goal set by God in our lives.

"Make you complete, complete and lacking in everything", and "make you complete" means to achieve perfection in thought and character (see Mt. 5: 48; Philippians III15); "Integrity" means that life is mature and the witness of life is impeccable; "Flawless" refers to the state of "perfection" and "perfection" and achieves perfection.

(1) The patience of Christians is not the patience of educated people in the world; Generally speaking, secular patience is only temporary, partial and mixed, but spiritual patience is ubiquitous, all-around and eternal (1 Cor. 1. 13: 4) and the patience to achieve the goal.

(2) "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Mt. 2413); Patience must succeed, don't give up halfway.

(3) In order to cultivate and cultivate our perseverance and bear fruit, God constantly arranges everything to help us (Luo. 8: 28), so we should greet them with joy (see section 2).

(4) Patience is a compulsory course for Christians and a necessary condition for perfection.

(5) "Perfection" is the realm that true Christians should reach after experiencing experiments.

(6) In the journey of life, Christians will encounter numerous tests, but the purpose of these tests is not to make us fall, but to make us move forward; Not to defeat us, but to give us a chance to win; Not to show our shortcomings, but to make us more complete.

(7) How Christians deal with all kinds of experiments in life is closely related to whether we can be "perfect"; If we can persevere and handle it well, it means that we have taken a big step towards perfection and completeness.

Although we can't achieve perfection in behavior (Phil. 3: 12), to pursue perfection in thought (sai. 38: 3; Mt. 5 48)

Jas. 1: 5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, ask God who gives generously to all and does not rebuke others, and the Lord will give it to him."

If any of you lacks wisdom, pray to God who gives generously to all and does not rebuke others, and he will get something.

[Original meaning] "thick" is simple, generous, unconditional, unreserved and natural; Blame or abuse.

[Text Note] "If any of you lacks wisdom", "If there is" is a hypothetical tone, indicating that it is not normal, but it may still exist; Wisdom refers to an inner insight, which is better than knowledge. Its characteristic is that people can make use of their own knowledge and find ways to surpass them in difficulties.

"Seek the God who gives generously to all people and does not blame others." "Seek God" is the only source and supplier of true wisdom. "Generosity" means that God's gift is generous. "Giving to all" means that God treats us equally and does not show partiality to others. "Don't complain" means that God's gift is not limited by our situation.

"The Lord will give it to him" and "I will give it to him" does not mean that the gift of God is completely unconditional (see section 6; 4.3), which means that we can get something by asking (see 4.2). If we don't ask, we can't expect God to "give" us out of thin air.

(1) Christians living in a complicated and chaotic environment must have keen spiritual insight to distinguish different things and adopt the best. This insight is called "wisdom" here.

(2) Wisdom is a virtue based on practicality, which provides the direction of life for those who belong to God; Wisdom can understand God's will and apply it to life (see Proverbs 2:10 ~19; 13 ~ 14; Nine 1~6).

(3) True wisdom belongs to God (Reference 4: 17), and only he is the source of true wisdom.

(4) The wisdom of Christians is that they can still find happiness in suffering and learn the secret of cultivation through trials.

(5) No matter what we ask God, we must first look at what our "lack" is; Only by seeing how much you lack can you make many real prayers to God.

(6) Our best prayer should be for "wisdom" (see 1 Kings 39 ~13); Wisdom is the key to spiritual treasure house.

(7) God loves those who belong to him, prays to him, and is willing to give generously to others. It's a pity that we don't ask, just afraid of asking too much.

(8) Experienced Christians can testify that many times God answers our prayers, "more than what we ask and think" (Christopher. 3: 20).

(9) We must remember that God's grace is abundant and he is never stingy; As children of God, we should also help those in need generously with God's mercy (see verse 27).

Jas. 1: 6 "Just ask in faith and don't doubt at all; Because people who doubt are like waves in the sea, tossed and tossed by the wind. "

(literal translation) "However, always ask in faith, there is no doubt; Because people who doubt are like waves in the sea, blown by the wind and tossed endlessly. "

[Original meaning] "Not at all"; "Doubt" is separation, differentiation, vacillation and contradiction; To incite, stir, or roll.

[Text Note] "Just ask with faith", which shows that asking God for truth and wisdom is not unconditional; "As long as" means there is only one condition; The original meaning of "seeking by faith" is "seeking by faith", which means having complete confidence in God, including: (1) believing in what you want; (2) Believe in God's mind and ability; (3) What is required is answered from God; (4) But when and how to promise, I believe that God will give us what he thinks is best for us.

"Without doubt" means to be firm in confidence.

"Because a doubter is like a wave in the sea", and a "doubter" refers to a person who hesitates. Waves in the sea describe a person's mental instability, such as the vagaries of the waves.

"Blown by the Wind" and "Blown by the Wind" describe that the mind often changes with the change of the environment; The original meaning of "churning" is "constantly evaluating in two aspects", that is, holding a critical attitude, sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right, and making up our minds.

Light in Words (1) People who truly know and trust God can accept everything God has arranged safely because they know what God has done, although they can't understand what God has done.

We can't stipulate what God will do for us in prayer, but we can be sure that God cares and loves us.

(3) When we pray to God, we must absolutely believe in the power of God and believe that he will be willing to give it.

(4) God's answer to our prayers does not vary from person to person (see section 5 "Giving to all"), but is influenced and limited by our attitude towards prayer.

(5) Prayer seeks the unseen and depends on faith. We should pray not only by faith, but also by faith.

(6) When we pray to God for wisdom, we should not rely on our own intelligence, nor should we doubt whether it is possible to get wisdom.

Jas. 1: 7 "Such a man should not think of anything from the Lord."

"Such a person should not expect anything from the Lord."

[Original meaning] "Thinking" is about ideas and delusions; Accept, accept and accept.

[Text Note] "Such a person" refers to a person who doubts (see section 6); "Don't think about it" means to give up early and don't expect it; "What did you get?" Meaningless.

This section contains a very positive meaning-you can get it by faith, but you can get nothing by doubt.

(1) Doubt is the greatest enemy of faith and the main reason for the failure of prayer.

(2) There is a law that prayer is answered, that is, faith, that is, the law that respects and glorifies God; Doubt is so degrading and humiliating to God that God can't answer our prayers.

Jas. 1: 8 "A man with two minds has no fixed opinion in all his ways."

"A half-hearted man wavers in all his actions."

A "double heart" with a double soul; "No fixed view" is unstable and at a loss.

"A man with two hearts" describes that a person has two different hearts, and everyone seeks different goals, but they all have no complete control (see 1 Kings 18 2 1).

"There is no fixed opinion along the way." "No fixed view" means no fixed belief and direction.

(1) Just as schizophrenia is a pathological state, "having two minds" is a pathological state of belief; Whatever such people do is uncertain and capricious.

(2) "Double-mindedness" is the mortal enemy of Christians in their pursuit of "perfection" (see section 4), and it also violates God's nature of "single-mindedness" and "wholehearted" (see section 5).

(3) A wise man is a man of his own mind (see 3: 13 "Wisdom and Knowledge"). He knows the direction of life, and then goes straight ahead (see 3: 13~ 14).
