What is the main story of the novel Resurrection?

Tolstoy's masterpiece Resurrection, written in 1899, is a summary of the writer's long-term thinking and artistic exploration. Duke Nekhludoff, the hero of the work, once attended a jury in court and found that the prostitute who was falsely accused of murder and wrongly sentenced was Maslova, a serf girl he cheated ten years ago. He suddenly awakened his conscience, went to the prison to visit Maslova, and said that he would marry her as a compensation, and tried his best to redress her grievances. After the appeal failed, she followed her to Siberia and took care of her all the way. In exile, Maslova met simonson, a political prisoner. His noble feelings aroused her pure nature, and she forgave Nekhludoff. After witnessing all kinds of human misfortunes and sins, Nekhludoff also found liberation from the Bible and was spiritually resurrected. On the one hand, the novel is full of critical passion and exposes the darkness of the czar's autocratic system; On the other hand, it advocates "non-violence and non-cooperation" and "moral cultivation", which shows the contradiction in the author's world outlook.
