First, the integration of emotion, scenery, things and reason. Tao Yuanming's description of scenery does not pursue the shape of the object and the twists and turns of the plot, but expresses feelings higher than the world through what everyone can see and ordinary things, and writes the truth that people may not understand. Tao Yuanming's poems focus on writing the mind, combining writing with scenery, and have a thorough understanding of life. Shi Tao's poems are based on things, landscapes, emotions and rationality. Pine trees, autumn chrysanthemums, solitary clouds and birds, which often appear in his works, are nothing unusual. They are both objective and reflect the poet's subjective feelings and personality. They are both concrete and conceptual. The "reason" in Tao's poems is not an abstract philosophical sermon, but a life experience, which contains the interest of life. Tao's poems show his understanding of the universe, history and life, and are the crystallization of his exploration of the mystery and significance of the universe. For example, "life is right, food and clothing are safe" and "eat, drink, and wait for no one" are both interesting and reasonable, and the effect is endless.
Second, see the police in the plain, and see the beauty in the simple. The objects described in Tao's poems are often the most common things, such as cottages, chickens, dogs, bean sprouts, Sang Ma, mean streets, etc., and everything is described truthfully, and there is nothing unusual. However, once a poet writes, there are often warnings. Tao's poems rarely use flowery rhetoric and exaggerated techniques, but are only rough, simple and plain, such as Planting beans at the foot of Nanshan and Autumn Chrysanthemum is Bright. However, beauty can also be seen in the plain. Su Shi summed up this feature of Tao poetry as "quality and reality, richness and reality", which is very incisive.
Thirdly, the language of Tao's poems is not unrestrained, but shows no trace and appears plain and natural. As Yuan Haowen said: "A word is natural and eternal, and it is extravagant." For example, three common verbs, such as "Comfort in time, Time waits for no man", "Love my house and my dog, save the shade in midsummer", "Wait", "Lose" and "Save", seem dull but wonderful, and can't be relaxed.
