The first four sentences talk about the personal practice experience of Patriarch Bodhidharma. Patriarch Bodhidharma (the founder of Zen Buddhism) came to China from India during the Southern Dynasties and spent nine years practicing meditation in a cave near the Shaolin Temple in Songshan Mountain (see the movie "Bodhidharma". It is also said that he stayed in a cave in the Shaolin Temple). However, it is said that he did not spend the rest of his life "cultivating Zen". After his death, someone once saw him in the mountains and forests. Patriarch Bodhidharma must have transformed into various forms by virtue of his magical powers, and may still be in the human world to save destined people.
The last four sentences are about the author’s own ambitions. He felt that he had connected with the heart of Patriarch Bodhidharma, understood good and evil, and had universal love, so he could serve this holy monk in the Land of Ultimate Bliss ("Lotus Pond") after his death. Author unknown.
