Changbai Mountain Scenic Area is located in the southeast of Chibei District, Erdaobaihe Town, Antu County, Jilin Province, and adjacent to North Korea in the southeast. Located on the northern slope of Changbai Mountain, it is 34 kilometers away from Changbai Mountain and 65 kilometers away from Binzi Peak on the border between China and North Korea, covering an area of 52.42 square kilometers. Now it is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. Changbai Mountain has been the sacred territory of China since ancient times, and it is one of the top ten famous mountains in China. Changbai Mountain was called Buxian Mountain in the Classic of Mountains and Seas, Tutaishan in the Northern Wei Dynasty, Taibai Mountain in the Tang Dynasty and Changbai Mountain in the Liao and Jin Dynasties.

Changbai Mountain Scenic Area is located on the edge of East Asia continent, bordering on the Pacific strong fold belt. Before the Mesozoic era, 200 million years ago to 75 million years ago, there were many crustal changes, forming ancient rock formations. The Mesozoic era experienced hundreds of millions of years of wind and rain erosion, forming a series of mountain basins. In the Cenozoic era, it became a quasi-plain with undulating hills, and the landscape of the scenic spot was a typical volcanic landscape. It is mainly composed of basalt platform, basalt plateau and volcanic cone from bottom to top with altitude.
On the vast basalt platform and basalt plateau, it is the main peak of the volcanic cone-Changbai Mountain. The basalt plateau (also known as the inclined plateau at the foot of the mountain) is located between the basalt platform and the volcanic cone, which is an obvious inclined zone.
