1. In Xu Hun's landscape poems, we can see beautiful scenery and quiet realm, and express our feelings in them, and the scenes can be well integrated. This kind of poetry is not only numerous, but also intriguing. Three Poems in Early Autumn, Autumn Tour to Tongmen Inn, Night Return to Dingmao Bridge and Comrade Jiangnan in Huaishang are all his representative works.
2. On the other hand, Xu Hun's nostalgic poems are also excellent. This kind of poetry expresses the author's deep nostalgia through posthumous gift. For example, watching the Ximen Pagoda in Xianyang, Lingbiantai, Huaigu in Jinling, Huaigu in Gusu and Guluocheng in the evening are all masterpieces to visit Huaigu.
3. However, the evaluation of Xu Hun is not consistent in history. Wei Zhuang once praised him for his "fresh words and strange sentences", and Lu You even thought that "after Li and Du Fu, Xu Hun was just a scholar". However, in "Tang Yin Gui Qian", a sentence by Sun Guangxian was recorded: "It is better to say that Xu Hun's poems are not written than his lack of talent." This may indicate that there is a certain polarization in his evaluation.
