The meaning of Christmas Eve in Christ

Christmas Eve, that is, Christmas Eve (65438+February 24th), also known as "Christmas Eve" in Chinese (from the famous Christmas song "Stille Nacht"), is one of the Christmas celebrations in most Christian societies.

The origin of Christmas Eve:

On the night of Jesus' birth, shepherds guarding sheep in the wilderness suddenly heard a voice from heaven telling them the news of Jesus' birth. According to the Bible, Jesus came to earth to be the king of the world, so angels spread the news to more people through these shepherds.

Later, people followed the example of angels and spread the news of the birth of Jesus everywhere on Christmas Eve. Until today, it has evolved into a good news activity.

In Christian society, on Christmas Eve, every family hangs a Christmas tree according to tradition. That night, the whole family gathered in the living room to sing Christmas songs around the Christmas tree, exchange gifts, share the joys and sorrows of life, express their inner blessings and love, and pray for happiness in the coming year.

In the Christian cultural circle:

Christmas Eve is also considered as a time when Santa Claus and other similar people in other areas give presents to good children everywhere. In Italy, presents are opened on the morning of Christmas Eve, while in Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Portugal and Poland, Christmas presents are usually opened on the night of Christmas Eve or on the morning of Christmas Day. In most parts of Germany, people open Christmas presents on Christmas Eve (German: Bescherung). In Iceland, Christmas Eve begins at 6 pm, the church bell will ring, people will have a holiday dinner with their families, and then they will open their presents and spend the night together. In North America, most families open presents on Christmas morning. For divorced families, children may be separated for two days to celebrate with one of their parents. In Spain, gifts are not opened until the morning of Día de reyes. Many traditional Christmas stories take place on Christmas Eve.
