The end of the 15th century and the 16th century were the peak period of the Ottoman Empire and the prosperity of medieval Turkish poetry. During this period, Fuzuli (1495-1556), an outstanding poet in medieval Turkey, appeared. He was born in the Iraqi city of Hilla and wrote mainly in Turkic. His main works include the long poems "Leili and Ma Jiyi", "The Rose and the Nightingale", the admonition poem "Friends of the Heart", the novel "The Book of Complaints", etc. The long poem "The Rose and the Nightingale" uses allegorical and symbolic techniques to describe the love story between the rose (symbolizing the princess) and the nightingale (representing the poet). The poet combines the changes in the four seasons of the year to not only eulogize the joy of love, but also lament the impermanence of life. His works are lyrical and have certain social significance. It had a great influence on later Turkish literature and the literature of other countries in the Middle East.
