After the new rain in the empty mountains, autumn comes late. The bright moon shines among the pines, and the clear spring flows over the rocks.
The bamboo noise returns to Huan Nu, and the lotus moves off the fishing boat. The spring fragrance rests at will, and the king and grandson can stay.
Translation:
The empty mountains were bathed in a new rain. Night fell and the air was cool, as if it had already arrived in autumn. The bright moon sheds clear light from the gaps in the pines, and clear spring water flows on the rocks. The noisy sound in the bamboo forest is thought to be the return of the washer girl, and the swaying of the lotus leaves is thought to be wandering up and down the boat. The fragrance of spring may as well be allowed to fade away, but the kings and grandsons of the mountains in autumn can stay for a long time.
2. "Midnight Wu Ge·Autumn Song"
Tang Dynasty: Li Bai
There is a moon in Chang'an and the sound of thousands of households pounding their clothes.
The autumn wind never blows away, but there is always love between the two.
On what day will the barbarians be pacified? The good man will stop his expedition.
Translation:
There was a moonlight in Chang'an City, and thousands of households were pounding clothes. The autumn wind carries the sound of pounding clothes, and every family misses those who guard the border. When will the border war be put to rest and my husband's expedition end.
3. "Autumn Night Song"
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
The autumn dew of Gui Po is weak when he is born, and his clothes are already thin and thin.
The silver zither has been played diligently for a long time at night, but I am timid and cannot bear to return to the empty room.
Translation:
When the moon first rose, the autumn dew was already thin, and I was wearing a thin Luo Yi without changing any other clothes. During the long night, I played the silver zither affectionately. I was afraid of staying alone in an empty room and couldn't bear to go inside to sleep.
4. "Staying on the Jiande River"
Tang Dynasty: Meng Haoran
Moving the boat to Yanzhu, the guests are worried about the new arrival at dusk.
The sky is wide and the trees are low, the river is clear and the moon is close to people.
Translation:
The boat docked at the misty islet, and at dusk new sorrows came to the guest's heart. The wilderness is endless, the sky is lower than the trees, the river is clear and the moon is close to people.
5. "Rising at Night in the Mountain Temple"
Qing Dynasty: Jiang Si
The moon rises on the top of the rock, and the smoke of the stream shines down. The smoke is as white as clouds and flows in front of the wild temple.
Open the door to cherish the night view, and tilt your head to look at the frosty sky. Whoever sees no family guests, alone in the mountains, cannot sleep.
Translation:
The moon rises from the rocks, and the light shines down on the stream full of smoke. The color of the smoke was as white as clouds, and the gurgling stream came to the temple in the wilderness. Open the door, enjoy the night view, and look up at the cold night sky. Who has ever seen a homeless wanderer like me, so lonely and unable to sleep in this deep mountain?
