In a certain sense, the new poetry from 1949 to 1976 all has the characteristics of political lyricism, and it seems a bit redundant to juxtapose the two poetry styles. However, it is precisely because of the serious deformity of poetry style after the founding of the People's Republic of China that it is possible to highlight "political lyric poetry" as a kind of poetry with strong political nature in ideological content and lyrical style in a specific era, in order to grasp their origins from the Yan'an period A tradition that has been formed since ancient times: extreme emphasis on the political propaganda function of poetry, strong "political commentary" in art, strengthening the interpretation of political concepts in poetry, and poetic characteristics such as high emotion and heroic spirit.
This issue of lyric poetry mainly includes new chapters of "old poets" such as Guo Moruo, Feng Zhi, Yuan Shuipai, Ai Qing, He Qifang, Tian Jian, Ke Zhongping, and is represented by the creations of He Jingzhi and Guo Xiaochuan It is composed of political lyric poems and short lyric chapters by Wen Jie, Li Ying, Liu Shahe, Gong Liu and others.
