Appreciation of Eight Tang Poems

1. Climb Du Fu

The wind is fast and high, the ape cries sadly, and the birds are circling in the white sand.

The endless trees are rustling leaves, and the Yangtze River is rolling unpredictably.

Li in the sad autumn scenery, a wanderer all the year round, lives alone on the high platform in today's illness.

After all the hardships and hatred, the white hair is full, and the wine glasses are damaged.

I don't think many people will object to calling Du Fu's ascent "the first of seven laws". Hu Yinglin spoke highly of this poem in Ming Dynasty. He said in the poem: "This poem should be the first of the seven laws in ancient and modern times, not necessarily the first of the seven laws in the Tang Dynasty." In other words, in his mind, Du Fu's "Ascending the Mountain" is not only the first of the seven laws of Tang poetry, but also the first of all the seven laws in ancient and modern times.

The whole poem is "within a text, every sentence is strange, every sentence is strange." First of all, its antithesis is neat, not only antithesis and neck couplet, but also antithesis of the first couplet and the last couplet, which is a "model of metrical poetry"; Secondly, it is rich in meaning, rigorous in composition and layered. When describing the scenery, use meticulous brushwork to describe it, which is full of sound and taste; Finally, the emotion poured into the poem is strong and profound, which is very infectious and perfectly unifies the content and form. These seven laws can be called the first.

2. Yellow Crane Tower in Cui Hao

The fairy of the past has flown away by the yellow crane, leaving only an empty Yellow Crane Tower.

The yellow crane never revisited earth, there have been no long white clouds for thousands of years.

Every tree in Hanyang has become clear due to sunlight, and Nautilus Island is covered with sweet grass.

But I looked home, and the twilight was getting thicker. The river is shrouded in mist, which brings people deep melancholy.

Who would have known that there was a poet named Cui Hao in the history of the Tang Dynasty, if this song "Yellow Crane Tower" had not been left behind? It is said that when the poet Li Bai visited the Yellow Crane Tower, he saw this poem and was jealous and wanted to compete. However, he finally put down his pen and sighed. At this point, there was a beautiful talk in the literary world of the Tang Dynasty that "Cui Hao wrote poetry and Li Bai put pen to paper".

For this poem, Shen Deqian commented: "Meaning comes first, words are gods, so it is good at eternal wonder." Yan Yu said in Cang Lang Shi Hua that "Cui Hao Yellow Crane Tower is the first." In the Qing Dynasty, the author even rated this poem as "Seven Laws", which was developed from Qi Bureau. Among them, the reason mainly comes down to the artistic beauty of the whole poem, that is, the combination of image and reality, as well as the magnificent and colorful painting beauty.

3. Golden Li Shangyin

I want to know why my Jinse has fifty strings, and each string has a youthful interval.

Zhuangzi daydreaming, a saint, was bewitched by butterflies, and cuckoo crowed in the imperial spring.

Mermaids shed pearl-like tears on the moon-green sea, and the blue fields breathed their jade to the sun.

A moment that should last forever has come and gone before I know it.

As a classic of Li Shangyin, The Beauty of Jinse really makes people love and hate: the meaning is obscure and ethereal, but it seems unintelligible after reading it. For all the experts and scholars who study poetry, this poem is really the most difficult to explain. Especially the theme of poetry, there have been different opinions for thousands of years.

In this regard, some people say that it is a mourning poem written by the author to his dead wife Wang; Some people say it should be a poem about music, because the four poems in the middle can be in harmony with the four senses. In addition, some people think that it alludes to politics and is an implicit self-mutilation poem, etc., which is really inconclusive. What is the answer? Only different people have different opinions.

4. The Old Times of Xibao Mountain Liu Yuxi

When Wang Jun's ships set out from Yizhou, the position of the prince of Wu disappeared.

The long Zhang Qian chain sank to the bottom of the river, and a flag was lowered on the stone wall.

How many sad past in life, the mountains still remain cold.

Since then, the world has belonged to one another, and rushes are whistling in the old base.

I especially like this poem by Liu Yuxi. Profound meaning, vertical and horizontal opening and closing, smooth and fluent, much like Liu Yuxi's rigid and honest style. On the surface, the poet seems to be objectively describing homesickness. In fact, the object of his mocking blade is the rulers who once dominated Jinling in history and finally disappeared in the smoke. At that time, the political situation was bleak and the local separatist forces revived. This poem by Liu Yuxi is undoubtedly a head-on blow to these forces.

In fact, the downfall of the Six Dynasties mentioned in the poem is really a good mirror of the arrogance, extravagance, corruption and fatuity of the rulers of the Tang Dynasty. It's a pity that the rulers only care about their own enjoyment and ignore the profound meaning in Liu Yuxi's poems. In the face of Liu Yuxi's honesty, I was demoted again and again. However, thousands of years later, when the dust of history gradually dispersed, Liu Yuxi's good name was forever engraved in the history books, which made people admire.

5. Qian Tang Lake Spring Tour Bai Juyi

From the north side of Gushan Temple to the west side of Jiating, the lake is just level with the embankment, with low clouds and waves on the lake.

Several early orioles raced to the sunny tree, and their new swallows were carrying mud in their nests.

Colorful spring flowers will gradually fascinate people's eyes, and shallow spring grass can barely cover the horseshoe.

I love the beauty on the east bank of the West Lake, and I can't get enough of it, especially the white sand embankment under the green poplar.

To be honest, the spring outing in Qiantang River is the most inappropriate of all Bai Juyi's poems. Because in the impression of later generations, Bai Juyi is a realistic poet with simple poetic style, popular language and profound description. However, this seven-tone melody is beautiful in artistic conception, fresh in style, rigorous in composition and tortuous, just like a shy woman dressed up, with beautiful appearance and extraordinary temperament.

In fact, such incompatible poems just confirm Bai Juyi's extraordinary talent in poetry creation. A truly talented poet will certainly dare to try other different types of poems on the premise of adhering to his unique style. Just like Bai Juyi, he can write a simple but affectionate charcoal man, and he can also write an elegant and beautiful spring outing in Qiantang.

6. Wang Ji Menzuyong

From the north of Yan, gongs and drums are loud, and Han will camp, and my heart sinks.

Snow covered the cold, cold brightness, and the frontier light shone on the flag.

The fire on the battlefield, Hu Yue's mountains and clouds stand on the sea like the Great Wall.

Although young people don't like joining the army, I want to learn to volunteer for academic fame.

Frontier poems are not unique to the Tang Dynasty. Before the Tang Dynasty, frontier poems appeared as early as the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties, and about 200 poems were preserved. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, especially during the Li Tang period, the number of frontier poems not only increased sharply, reaching more than 2,000, but also had high quality and excellent works. After the demise of the Tang Dynasty, frontier poems declined. It can be said that the prosperity of frontier poems is closely related to the fate of the Tang Dynasty.

Of all the frontier poets in the Tang Dynasty, Zuyong was undoubtedly a slightly unknown poet. However, with this poem, Zu Yong not only gained a place in the literary world of the Tang Dynasty, but also left his own good name in history. This poem starts from the military, closely follows the word "hope" and describes what you see in the hope. In one go, it is inspiring and fully embodies the high-spirited temperament of poets in the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

7. Xu Hun, East Building of Xianyang City

Climb high and miss the ancient oil for thousands of miles, but the willows in your eyes are like Jiangnan.

The red sunset is in the temple outside the temple, and the wind has not yet come, and the wind has already blown the buildings in Xianyang.

At dusk, birds fly in the garden, and in late autumn, cicadas chirp in the leafy trees.

Passers-by don't ask about the past, only the Weihe River flows eastward as always.

In the Tang Dynasty, Xu Hun was a seemingly contradictory poet. Why do you say that? Because on the whole, Xu Hun is good at the tour of ancient poems. For example, this poem "East Building of Xianyang City" is one of his classic homesickness poems. But he just "misses the past" and "hurts the present" blindly, and his artistic conception is gloomy and meaningless. So we only need to know this one about Xu Hun's nostalgic poems.

The whole poem is broad and lofty, with desolate charm, and it is an excellent poem in Tang Dynasty. The poem is driven by clouds, sun, wind and rain, and rendered by green grass and yellow leaves, which outlines a bleak and bleak artistic conception for readers. In the description of scenery, the poet gives abstract emotional forms, and integrates his rich personal life experience and deep thinking about history and reality into it, achieving perfection in the blending of scenes.

8. After the rain clears, I live in Wangchuan.

Rain is stored in the forest, and smoke, steamed quinoa and boiled millet come slowly in the east corner.

An egret flies over the quiet swamp, and mango birds sing in the trees in midsummer.

I learned to watch the morning glory in the mountains calmly and eat sunflower seeds with dew under the pine trees.

Why should I scare seagulls, even if I think about it, by giving the honorary position to any clown? .

Wang Wei is actually not good at writing seven laws. Among many of his poems, short quatrains are the most common, such as Bird's Singing Stream, Zhuliguan, Chai Lu, Acacia, Farewell and so on. Although the proportion of these poems in all Wang Wei's poems is not the highest, they are the most classic masterpieces of Wang Wei's poetic style. When describing the nature of mountains and rivers, Wang Wei always pays attention to the feeling of a moment and is full of Zen.

So for Wang Wei, quatrains are much easier to write than metrical poems. Because the feeling of this moment is fleeting, if we have to consider the problem of leveling and rhyming, the inspiration has long since disappeared. However, this does not mean that Wang Wei can't write a good seven-melody, which is proved by this song "Wangchuan Cabin after My Long Rain". These seven methods are vivid and profound, showing the poet's leisure in seclusion in the mountains and away from the secular world. Therefore, some people pushed it as the pressure roll of the seven laws of the whole Tang Dynasty, reaching the extreme of "empty the ancient and refined the present".
