King Nebuchadnezzar hated the rebellious Jewish king. He ordered his son to be killed in front of King Zedekiah, and then he gouged out Zedekiah's eyes. When Zedekiah, who was blind, was brought before Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar said to him, "This is the result of your betrayal. So he ordered Zedekiah to be bound with bronze chains and taken to Babylon for public display.
The whole city of Jerusalem was looted. The city walls were torn down and temples, palaces and many houses were burned down. Almost all the living residents were taken to Babylon. This is the famous "prisoner of Babylon" in history.

Babylon
Babylonia (about 30 centuries ago -729 years ago) was located in the Mesopotamian plain, roughly in modern Iraq. About 5000 years ago, people here established a country, and by the eighth century BC, the Kingdom of Babylon appeared here.
"Mesopotamia"-the Bible calls it "Eden", which is an ancient Greek word meaning "the place between the two rivers", so it is also called the valley of the two rivers. These two rivers refer to the Euphrates River and the Tigris River. The first city in the world developed on this plain, the first code was promulgated, and the earliest epics, myths, pharmacopoeias, farmers' yearbooks, etc. It is the cradle of human civilization.
In 539 BC, the new Babylonian Empire was defeated by King cyrus the great of Persia in the Battle of Oedipus. Under the rule of Ju Lushi and later King Darius the Great of Persia, Babylon became the capital of District 9 (Babylon in the south and Assyria in the north).
