What are the poems of Cixi?

"Birthday to Mother", the original poem is as follows:

Parents are the most authentic in the world, and tears and blood are dissolved into children.

Exhausted heart will eventually become a child, and the poor will bear the wind!

When Fu Chashi, the mother of Cixi, celebrated her 60th birthday, although the Forbidden City was only a stone's throw away from her mother's mansion in Xila Hutong, Cixi was unable to attend her mother's birthday, so she wrote this poem, and the last two sentences were the most famous and sung all over the world.

The mystery of name

Folklore or film and television works generally call Empress Dowager Cixi Laner or Magnolia. It may be because Cixi's first title after entering the palace was "Lan Guiren", and many novel notes mistakenly thought that "Lan Er" was her real name, but it was not. According to Ye Hena Lagan, a descendant of the Cixi family, Cixi's real name is actually "Xinger Gu", which is a common name for underage women in Manchu.

The name "Xinger" was because there were several ginkgo trees planted in the yard at that time, so Cixi's grandfather gave her a big name "Xingzhen" and a nickname "Xinger", which means "loyalty".

As for Emperor Xianfeng, she was originally named as an orchid aristocrat, probably because Xianfeng liked Magnolia best, so she was given such a title to show her love for Xingzhen.
