One to six verses of this poem are soft and touching love songs. The poet sang a sentimental feeling with the unique gentleness of women. In the first section, I wrote that the iris sang softly, the lover's breath blew, and the moonlight jingled ... The poet skillfully used metaphor, synaesthesia and other rhetorical devices to create a smooth picture. Pay attention to the texture of that sound when reading. The second paragraph is quite a fairy tale. There are many images in my dream, such as snow, forest, leaning tower, Christmas tree, roller skates, magic flute, fairy tales, fireworks, fountains and so on. These images appear so densely that they set off an exotic fairy tale world. The third part turns to the review of real life. Every sentence begins with "I", the labor when the countryside jumped the queue, the hard work under scaffolding after returning to the city, the cramming learning of cultural knowledge, and the lonely and confused walking ... The superposition of scenes is the lingering past of "I" and the life experience of a generation of "educated youth". The fourth section uses four paragraphs, all of which begin with the prayer of "Let me have a dream of ……", which rhymes harmoniously; Pay attention to four different dreams: tranquility, serenity, absurdity and madness, and express attachment to lovers, longing for mutual trust, longing for pure love and passion.
The fifth and sixth sections are further descriptions of their world. Images with great visual impact, such as moon, high-speed rail, rotation and avalanche, are dizzy, while traditional images such as field and sunshine bring quiet and harmonious beauty. The fifth section juxtaposes the two poles of these contrasts. On the one hand, the world is going backwards and time is spinning wildly. On the other side is the field in the picture, with faint sunshine. The poet captures two different feelings of love with meticulous sensitivity and presents them to readers through these two sets of images.
The last line of the sixth verse, "But ..." is the emotional turning point of the whole poem. Immersed in the tender and sweet love, "I" was awakened by the times from the seventh season, and I had to see my historical responsibility and bravely shoulder the responsibility for the future. From the choice of images, scarlet blood, sober sea and heavy cross all show strong and intense characteristics, but the initial dreams are scattered like dandelions. The poet compares tender love to a light and beautiful dandelion, highlighting that it is as light as a feather compared with the heavy responsibility (cross) entrusted to me by the times, but its "flying away" is still melancholy. The image of "cross" has strong religious feelings, and people who bear it need to make self-sacrifice or even self-sacrifice. For the call of the times, "I" blew away the dandelion that was immersed in the gentle village and shouldered the heavy responsibility, and felt lost for a while, just like standing on a "crater" with no way out. This is a rather complicated emotion.
Since the ninth verse, the style of this poem has become more and more passionate. "Bougainvillea" and "Wild Swan" are both self-metaphors of poets. A real lyric hero began to sigh confidently: he refused to "sway on the vase", refused to linger in the "spring scenery of the railing", and was baptized in the cold wind and rain with vitality. So, what makes the little girl who is intoxicated in fairy tales and dreams become the main body of struggle with flying wings and hardships? In the next paragraph, the "nation" clearly appears in the poem for the first time. The poets of Shu Ting's generation have a deep sense of responsibility and sincere love for the motherland and the nation. The "runway", "sprint" and "finish line" touch the scene of running in the track and field, which also shows that after ten years of "Cultural Revolution", the whole nation has been left behind by time. As one of the historical undertakers, "I" have no right to rest "and can only race against time endlessly.
The next few paragraphs are almost the alternation of lingering love of "I" and accepting the historical mission frankly. On the one hand, a silly girl who is "me" or "you" will not become confused because of "you"; On the other hand, "I" is full of pride and passion, facing the sunshine and "standing straight". The emphasis on "yellow skin" and "black hair" once again confirmed my identity as a national undertaker So in the fourteenth section, the poet assumes a scene of growing up for the motherland and finally giving his life: "smiling", "sliding down from his mother's shoulder", and his blood is still burning. This assumption is a declaration of no regrets, and there is a passionate youth flowing in the distance, which is the commitment of that generation to the motherland.
The last two sections are scenes in which the poet assumes that he is dead. The narrative tone of poetry returns to tenderness from impassioned, filled with faint sadness. "I" hope that my lover will not be immersed in loneliness and sadness when no one is around, but stand up again for his ideal. "Olive tree" and "dove" are both symbols of peace, which is the peace that "I" bought with my life. At the end of the poem, "I" became a "singing iris" and was discovered by my lover in the morning. All the feelings of sadness, hesitation, agitation and high spirits have become more melodious and artistic in this atmosphere.
In terms of artistic expression, Aria can be said to be a great display of vague poetic rhetoric, the most striking of which is the clever use of symbolism. From the traditional moonlight, pigeons and olive trees to the small baskets, scaffolding and figures under the street lamps with personal colors, the whole poem is unfolded with a series of symbols, and the most critical symbols that make up the whole poem are "iris" and "cross". We can even say that only by understanding the symbolic meaning of these two images can we really understand the whole poem. Another notable feature of this poem is the full use of polyphony, that is, to express complex life experiences, ideal pursuits and emotional world in a double or multiple emotional field. This poem was produced in the period when Shu Ting's personal life (including poetry art) was about to take an important turning point. This polyphonic or multi-emotional world composed of different aspects has great tension space. The different internal elements of these tones either extend at different intervals and dimensions, or cross and overlap with each other, forming an integrated double-sided or multi-sided or even complex aggregation form. It is precisely because of these multiple interweaving, dialogue and even opposition and transformation that the tension space and polyphonic art form of emotional expression in Shu Ting's poems are formed. This poem is gentle and noble, tragic and magnificent, and it is an affectionate and magnificent symphony of life.

The singing iris is fresh and bright, with broad artistic conception and rich lyrical color. The contrast between the two lines and images in the poem reflects the rich and complicated inner world of the lyric hero. The novel language combination is refreshing.
