Detailed introduction
Hu (1908~ 1998) is a famous expert on classical literature, especially devoted to the study of literary history, Tang poetry and Song poetry in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. A famous professor in the Chinese Department of Wuhan University, he is the "eighth middle school" in the "five old and eight schools" of Wuhan University. The word Zhixiang is from Dangyang, Hubei Province (under Yichang City). Hu loved literature since childhood. When he was in high school and college, he carefully read many classics, history, books and books, and laid a solid foundation. 1936 After graduating from the Chinese Department of Wuhan University, he worked as a Chinese teacher in public and private middle schools (including Hubei Lianzhong Jianshi Middle School Branch) in western Hubei and eastern Sichuan. From 65438 to 0946, he returned to teach at Wuhan University and served as a lecturer, associate professor and professor. He also served as the director of the 3rd-9th Century Research Office of the Chinese Department of the school, the deputy director of the 3rd-9th Century Institute of China, and a member of the school board. In 1950s, he went to Peking University to study Marxist-Leninist literary theory. He used to be vice-president and consultant of China Tang Literature Society (the first and second sessions), vice-president and consultant of China Qu Yuan Society, vice-president of China Sushi Research Society, first president of Hubei Literature Society, consultant of Chinese Poetry Society, consultant of Hubei Writers Association, honorary president of Hubei Poetry Society, honorary president of Wuhan Poetry Society and member of Hubei Committee of Jiu San Society.
In the field of China's classical literature research, he has worked hard for decades and achieved fruitful results, and has a distinct academic personality in his research and exploration. After more than 60 years of teaching and academic research, we have trained a group of backbones engaged in classical literature teaching and scientific research, and compiled a variety of liberal arts textbooks and academic monographs in institutions of higher learning, such as Literature History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Literature History of Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties, Selected Works of Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, Selected Songs of Tang and Five Dynasties, and Research on Li Bai. A series of academic papers published by him were compiled into On Poetry, which was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House 1992. His research work has a great influence on domestic academic circles, and some papers have attracted the attention of overseas scholars.
Hu is kind and easy-going. He has an independent spirit in academic research, does not follow the trend, does not mix personal likes and dislikes, and insists on objectively, comprehensively and correctly evaluating ancient literary phenomena, writers and works. He has been engaged in the study of literature, Tang poetry and Song poetry in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties for many years. For a long time, apart from the overall study of a few writers and works in this period, the academic circles rarely do the overall study, making the literature of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties an "upset" in the study of classical literature. In 1950s, due to the need of teaching, Hu made a comprehensive exploration of the literature of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and completed the Manuscript of the Literature History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties at the beginning of 1958. From 65438 to 0978, when the spring breeze of ideological emancipation blew into academic circles, he published a series of innovative academic papers. In his article "The Position of Poetry in the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties in the History of China's Poetry Development", he pointed out that poetry in this period played a "nurturing" role in the prosperity and artistic achievements of poetry in the Tang Dynasty, and boldly affirmed the literati's pursuit of artistic forms at that time from the perspective of the history of literary development. His book Literature History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties is the first dating literature history published after the founding of the People's Republic of China. This book can enrich readers' understanding of the literature of this period in content, reveal the inheritance and mutual influence of various styles and writers in style, highlight the development clues of various literatures, and show the important position of the literary achievements of this period in the whole history of China literature. After 1982, there were more articles about the literature of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and Hu's Literature History of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties was reprinted one after another, winning the second prize of the social science research achievement award of Wuhan University and the first outstanding achievement award of Hubei Province, which was welcomed by some foreign sinologists. Professor Hozman, a French sinologist, teaches the literature of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties in France, which takes his works as teaching materials. It is Hu's consistent style of study to look at writers and their works from the perspective of historical materialism and adhere to the thinking method of seeking truth from facts, which is also an important reason why he won the respect of academic circles. In 1950s, when the realistic literary theory was introduced from the Soviet Union and widely studied by scholars, there was a debate on the evaluation of Li Bai's poems. Hu took an active part in this debate and published a series of papers such as Review. In view of the dogmatism tendency in the debate at that time, it is pointed out that the study of classical literature should not replace objective concrete analysis with subjective abstract feelings, and should avoid subjective one-sidedness in thinking methods. Through a large number of historical materials, detailed argumentation and profound analysis, the essence and characteristics of Li Bai's poems are convincingly explained. His views, not following the crowd, were valuable at that time. In the later discussion about the authenticity of Eighteen Beats of Hu Jian, he published an article about the authenticity of Cai Yan, criticizing Guo Moruo's practice of arbitrarily tampering with historical records based on subjective imagination. This paper not only attracted the attention of domestic academic circles, but also attracted the attention of foreign countries, calling it "quite convincing and very elaborate".
Hu is a student of the poet Liu Yongji. He is good at poetry and lyrics. After engaging in teaching and scientific research, he often wrote poems and lyrics to express his thoughts and feelings. After decades of creation, he integrated Shi Xiangzhen's Poems. From this, we can see an old intellectual's loyalty to the motherland, concern for reality and love for life. In September, 2008, Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House published "Collected Works of Hu" to commemorate the100th anniversary of Hu's birthday and to remember his academic achievements and moral articles. Yi Zhongtian, a student of Hu's academic style, used the following words: "Mr. Hu's academics are alive, with a vivid life", "He has made academics a part of his life", and "Listening to his classes is simply crazy".

Poetry appreciation
Quail day
It's hard to be 50 years old with a smile on your face and shoulders. Today * * * came to the green forest tree, and the branches were full of trees. Being in foreign affairs, where can you be poor in life? There are fairy lovers in the dust, making up for the shortcomings and laughing.
This was written by Professor Hu to his wife Shen Peizhen on the occasion of the golden wedding. Shen Shi died on July 2, 2009)
Mulan-Commemorating Mao Zedong's Centennial Birthday
The history of the Yellow Emperor has opened a new calendar, and the big house gate stands tall in Yadong. Nature's giant hand lifts Kun and looks up at Shaoshan. China is full of joy today, and the world has passed away for a hundred years. If the public life is self-sufficient, Jinshi's meritorious service will shine brilliantly.
