Guangxi’s original song creation has produced excellent works in every period. As early as the 1930s, a song "The Hongshui River Has Thirty-Three Bays" became the origin of Guangxi's original songs. "The Thirty-Three Bays of the Red Water River" has been sung abroad since the 1930s, and was once sung by a world-famous bass. In the early 1960s, "Liu Sanjie", which stood out in a Guangxi performance, was well-known both at home and abroad. Touching melodies such as "Folk Songs Are Like Spring River Water" accompanied the growth of a generation. The release of "Sanjie Liu" brought Guangxi's original songs to a climax.

Guangxi’s original songs truly entered a glorious era after the reform and opening up. During this period, not only did the number increase dramatically, but the styles were diverse. In the late 1980s, the song "Returning from the Fair, Mile Mile", written by the old poet Gu Di and composed by Huang Youyi, has a strong national style and has had a huge repercussions across the country. It has become a classic among Guangxi folk songs and is still sung today. . Since 1999, there have been more than a thousand original songs in Guangxi. At the same time, during this period, Guangxi's song packaging forms were diversified. Through competitions, albums, MTV, etc., the songs were sung in a wider space.

In 2002, the first batch of signed songwriters from Guangxi went to Baise Napo to collect music. The songwriters went deep into the folk, collected a batch of precious original music materials, and created "Carrying Good Days Over the Mountains", "Ni's Yeah Black Robe", "Painting Brother", "Singing Flying Over the Nine Layers" "Heaven" and "The Village is Waiting for You". After the release of Napo Heiyi Zhuang, Guangxi songs such as Pingguo Lingge and Longzhou Tianqin successively became popular across the country, and they all appeared on the big stage of CCTV.

The original and simple style of Guangxi folk songs has brought a breath of fresh air to the Chinese music scene. While Guangxi's national songs are becoming popular in China, they are also favored by more and more people abroad. Heiyi Zhuang, Longzhou Tianqin Group, etc. have performed abroad many times and received rave reviews.
