The Mountain’s Daughter is a true story.
"The Mountain's Daughter" is based on Huang Wenxiu, the "model of the times". The whole play tells the story of Huang Wenxiu's advanced deeds on the front line of poverty alleviation while not forgetting his original intention and mission, and leads the audience into Huang Wenxiu's story. An ordinary but great struggling life at the age of 30.
After Huang Wenxiu graduated from Beijing Normal University, she voluntarily gave up her high-paying job in a big city and chose to return to the city where she was born and raised. Later, she chose to work as a village cadre in the poorest mountain village. ?
In just one year, Huang Wenxiu lifted 88 families in this village out of poverty. Later, a heavy rain forced this girl, whose life had just begun, to stay on the road of poverty alleviation forever.
Different from previous dramas with straightforward and eloquent main themes, "The Mountain's Daughter" has a fast pace and novel expressions, especially the flashback technique at the beginning, which quickly arouses the audience's emotions. On a rainy night, Huang Wenxiu was driving alone on a rugged mountain road. Her elderly parents were worried about their returning daughter. Her colleagues in Baini Village kept calling and sending WeChat messages to warn her of flash floods, asking her not to return to the village. Unfortunately, it was too late. .
The beginning of the play uses rapid and tense shots to truly reproduce the last moments of Huang Wenxiu's life, which is heartbreaking. At this point in the story, director Lei Xianhe used an unexpected way of expression - Huang Wenxiu, played by Yang Rong, directly faced the camera and calmly introduced herself: My name is Huang Wenxiu.
Choosing this scene as the beginning of the whole drama is a surprise, making the audience want to get close to Huang Wenxiu and slowly interpret and taste her short but brilliant life.
Huang Wenxiu in the play is played by powerful actress Yang Rong. Yang Rong, who speaks Guangxi Mandarin, has both an original flavor and the temperament of a contemporary college student, and she also performed the charm of Huang Wenxiu.
Especially the explosive scene in which she was misunderstood by Nong Zhanshan, played by Liu Yijun: "I, Huang Wenxiu, am not here to plate gold, but to lead the villagers out of poverty." It is full of tension. In order to interpret Huang Wenxiu, the "model of the times", Yang Rong went deep into the places where she once worked and lived, experienced life, and fully understood Huang Wenxiu's struggle trajectory and spiritual world.
