Why does the image of "water" often appear in ancient poetry?

Water has always been a rich image in the minds of the ancients. 1, "Good as water", water is the weakest thing, but it is also strong and awesome; 2. "The deceased is like this", water also represents the flowing years, or history, and has a sense of vicissitudes, which is mostly used to highlight the impermanence and brevity of life; 3. "Hao Hao Soup", water has an unparalleled mysterious power, which makes people feel the greatness and vastness of nature.

In addition, "autumn water" is mostly sad, and "spring water" is mostly colorful.

These are my personal views on poetry appreciation. I hope it works for you!
