The whole poem expresses the poet's complex feelings of wandering for many years, being entangled in old diseases and being lonely through climbing mountains. It is impassioned and touching. Shu Xiang is another masterpiece of Du Fu. This poem expresses the poet's unrequited ambition by praising Zhuge Liang's wisdom and achievements.
